September Favourites

Being good I'm actually getting my September favourites up before September ends, this month has really flew by meaning that summer is officially over and uni has begun.

My favourites for this month have been:

Some of these products have been featured in reviews so I won't go into too much detail about them.

My first favourite of the month is:

Mac Stunner Blush

This little beauty is part of Mac's 'Mac Me Over' collection, the blush named Stunner is gorgeous. I don't want to go into too much detail as I plan to do a review for this product. I had such trouble getting it but the trouble was definitely worth it it's a lovely pink colour and I've been wearing it the majority of the month.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light

This has been great as the weather is starting to cool down so I want a bit more coverage and this foundation is build-able. I like that this has a matte finish so this means I don't need as much powder and lasts all day, a little goes a long way with this.

Benefit's They're Real Mascara

Again I did a review for this a few posts back so not going to go into too much detail, but I love this mascara it really does lengthen my lashes and with a couple of coats make it look really natural. To say it's not waterproof it does a great job of staying on even when my eyes get wet.

Hugo Boss Orange

This is one of those products that I've had for ages always used it then stopped, but then got back into it this month and it makes me wonder why I stopped using it. I love love love this perfume it's great for everyday use, I find that it lasts all day and still smells lovely at the end of the day. I also love the packaging of this it's quite stylish and easy to carry in your bag. I have a backup of this ready for when this bottle runs out.

Garnier BB Cream

This is something I've already wrote about so I'm not gonna bore you, this has been raved about online and this is like my HG. I use this everyday as a base and sometimes as foundation when it's warmer. It helps blend my skin and blur imperfections making a great base and doesn't feel cakey when foundation is added which is something I was worried about.

ELF Matte Top Coat

This is a late entry for September favourites as I only started using it near the end but it's that great that I've decided to include it. I was having some problems with my matte polish in making it last without chipping so I popped some of this on top and it definitely helps the polish last longer, and this was a steal at 75p with ELF's 50% off.

L'Oreal Super Liner

This is something I already loved as I owned this is Black Crystals, but I wanted to try it in Carbon Black and it doesn't disappoint. I love the felt applicator of this it makes applying my eyeliner a doddle, when using this it literally takes less than a minute to do one eyes that's how good the applicator is.

Estee Lauder Foundation Brush

This was courtesy of my mom (so thanks) as foundation brushes are something I have a love / hate relationship with as they sometimes leave my foundation streaky so I have to go over it with a stipple brush. This brush however applies my foundation effortlessly and smoothly, I really love this and the best thing about it was it was off my mom so cost me nothing.

Kate Moss Lipstick

This is another item I have reviewed (gosh so many in this list have already been reviewed) and I love this as an everyday lipstick, I've been wearing it to uni the past couple of days and it lasts a while (unless I begin to eat and drink then it does fade). I love the smell of this also it just adds that bit extra I think when lipsticks smell, what I like about this is it's a natural colour but you can tell I have lippy if you get what I mean, as sometimes natural looking lipsticks literally blend so well with your lips you can't tell you have any on but this is natural and noticeable.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this, and just wondering what your favourite products of this month have been?

Another award: yay!

I was told the other day that the lovely Mie from http://artofmi3.blogspot.com awarded me the 'Classic beauty award'.

Here's who I'd like to nominate:

Passing the love.

Anyways you can tell I've been at uni after 3 days I'm shattered and I've only been doing a couple of hours the early mornings are killing me. Gonna try and get a post up for Friday.

OOTD: First Day Back At Uni

Hey lovelies, sorry for the lack of posts the past few days been busy with work and getting stuff for uni.

Anyways I'd figure that I'd post an outfit of the day showing what I wore for my first day back, luckily enough this year my timetable is nice so I should still be able to make regular posts. Want to apologise now for the state that I look in, these were taken when I got home and took my extensions out.

Onto the outfit:

I decided that I wanted to dress up a bit for the first day back but not too much so I topped the look off with my denim shirt.

Without denim shirt:

Shoes:

Bag:

Where I got the items from:

Dress: Topshop
Denim Shirt: H&M
Tights: New Look
Shoes: Primark
Bag: River Island

My only problem is when I'm in for one lesson a day I never feel the need to dress up I could get away with going into uni in my joggers but I never learn I will always spend too much time looking at what I can wear.

So have any of you guys started or gone back to uni? If so how was your first day?

NOTD: Avon Matte Nail Enamel: Red Velvet

Hey, so this is going to be a quick post just of my current nails as I've been working past couple of days and gotta be up early again tomorrow so yeah, if you read one of my hauls a while back you may have seen that I purchased a couple of Avon Matte nail varnishes. I haven't gotten round to trying them out yet so I figured as we're heading into autumn this would be the perfect opportunity.

I went for the colour Red Velvet which is a lovely rich red with purple and gold hints, and a great colour for the colder months.

After applying the one coat it literally changed from lovely and shiny to matte in less than 30 seconds I was quite shocked, and it dries extremely quick I'm not worried with this about having to wait ages for it to completely dry as it does with in a minute.

I also like the feel of this polish, I would say it's a bit velvety if that's the best way to describe it, you would think with matte it wouldn't feel too nice but it does.

I'm am probably converted now to matte nails, this was a trend that I had the stuff to try it out with but never gotten round to doing so, I absolutely love them and I can see this being my autumn and winter varnish (thank god for my matte top coat).

Some close ups:

Silly me however when first applying it thought I'd apply a top coat to help it last longer to find that instead of giving it the matte finish it unmatted it making it lovely and shiny which defeats the purpose.

I got this and another colour: grey cement which I'll try out next and got these for £3 from Avon, I think the normal price is £6 and they may have gone back up to that price I'm not 100% sure.

Anyways I really love these polishes and will be buying more colours, my only problem I have the slight feeling that because they're matte they will cheap easier, the true test will be when I'm at work tomorrow to see how they hold up, but if they do I actually don't mind touching them up because it's really quick to do.

Oh my only other gripe is that depending on the way you put it on your nails it can look a bit crappy because of the matte finish if you've done your nails perfectly it'll look fine but if you've gone a bit heaver on a part it will show.

Other than that I love it.

Anyways if you haven't seen my last post I'm currently having a giveaway so feel free to enter as it's worldwide.

Secondly have you tried matte polishes?

Lidl's £4 Chanel Bargain

Hey guys before I start my post I want to apologise for not doing any posts for the past few days, unfortunately I've had some family problems where my dad was took into hospital but all seems to be fine now.

Anyways onto the post:

If you have read this weeks More magazine it talks about a certain perfume that beat Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle in a recent blind test, this has been the talk of other tabloids the past fews months and I managed to get my hands on a bottle of Lidl's scent a couple of weeks ago.

90% of testers preferred Lidl's bargain scent in the blind test, after reading this statistic I knew I had to get my hands on this to see if these claims were true.

This perfume was soon put to the test on the day it was purchased as I was going out, and I could not believe how strong this perfume is after one spray on my wrist I thought that was all that was needed, and surprisingly it lasted the duration which I was shocked about.

The second thing that shocked me was the resemblance the fragrance has to Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle: the citrus and the musky sensual smell that you expect. I did spray Chanel on the one wrist and Lidl's on the other and I can honestly say that if I hadn't known which was on which I wouldn't have been able to outrightly say which was which.

If the smell of this seems a big strong to begin with it does die down so you won't have to worry about the overpowering smell when around others.

I was also shocked with the packaging, for something that doesn't even cost a fiver I figured it would just be the bottle on the shelf but instead the box does look up market, you would find yourself double looking it because it doesn't look tacky in anyway.

The bottle is exactly the same it is in no way tacky looking, I find the only thing that maybe makes it look cheaper is the lid on the bottle as it's plastic and well a bit boring, where many of my perfume lids are either bejewelled or some way match the bottle (or if you're Vera Wang you make one like the Love Struck lid which speaks for itself).

Now summers over we find we might not have as much money on hand, but this little gem won't break the bank at £3.99 for 50ml compared to Chanel's price tag of £61.

This is coming from someone who would have never stepped into the shop if it weren't for this, literally you could wear this out and your friends would not know that it came from Lidl that's how great this is.

Have you tried Lidl's perfume?

Lastly, as I mentioned in my last post that I was going to do a giveaway I've got the stuff now to get it underway, unfortunately guys I am a student with little money so it's not going to be too much but I hope you will all like.

Benefit's 'They're Real' Mascara Review

If you read my wedding look post you'd notice when I posted my FOTD I used Benefit's latest mascara 'They're Real'. I've been using this since I got it when it came out the end of last month so I've had a while to try and test it out.

This mascara has caused a hype both online and in store, I'm sure if you were to go to your local Benefit counter they will be advertising this all round. I found this in both my local Boots and Debenhams.

'They're Real' claims to lengthen, curls, volumizes, lifts and superates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won't smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had.

This is one of those products I was a little skeptical about as many mascaras claim to give you false looking lashes and many I have found don't, I figured as I had some Debenhams beauty card points I'd try it out for 8.50 so that way I didn't feel as bad if it didn't work.

Before I get onto the results I love the packaging of this it's quite chic and stylish, and the wand is different to all the other mascara wands I have tried in the past. The bristles of this extend onto the end of the brush allowing for application in those hard to reach areas on your eyes especially in the corners. The brush is customised to lift, define and curl your lashes without the aid of a eyelash curler.

My only problem with the brush due to the design is that the mascara sometimes clumps around the end of the brush meaning you have to wipe it off before applying to try and stop it clumping on your eyelashes.

Onto what the product looks like:

So I started off with no mascara on:
This is after one coat:

I applied one very thin coat to show you guys that you don't need too much of this stuff on for the desire effect. This first layer gives a nice natural look.

Two coats:

Again these coats were lightly applied

Three:

I applied this a little more thickly to show how it thickens the lashes, but when I was looking through the photo's it really doesn't do the mascara justice. I really love it for all different looks.

However I don't think it gives the false lash effect, it does significantly lengthen your lashes but not to the false effect, overall though I'm really happy with this.

I will just let you all know this mascara isn't actually waterproof, but have found it stays in place during the day.

This is currently priced at £18.50 from Benefit counters, which may be a bit pricey depending on how much you spend on mascara, this is something that I would buy again as I do like the product.

Have you tried Benefit's 'They're Real?'

Kate Moss Lipstick Collection

The much anticipation lipstick collection by Kate Moss for Rimmel finally hit the shelves yesterday and I hopped on down to Boots today to go check them out for myself.

The set comes in 7 different shades that Kate has personally chose:

These are available in shades: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12.

I was amazed when I went into Boots to have a look at these a lot of them had sold out, the shades 1 and 12 had sold out within the space of two days, unbelievable. The colour choices are great in this collection, I find with some collections you couldn't see yourself wearing them all but with collection I may end up buying them all.

The packaging of these are really cute, the matte black container features Kate's signature and heart which gives a personal touch on the lipstick. When I was testing these in the shop I was overwhelmed with the formula, it's creamy which is something I like in a lipstick, but also highly pigmented so even with the nude colours you won't need to apply too much.

When it comes to the smell of these I find it reminds me of Vanilla, and it's a lovely smell. When I did a new swatch at home for you guys I haven't stopped smelling my hand because it smells so nice.

Onto the ones I picked up, I had to be good as the mother was treating me and so I ended up getting the shades: 3,5,8.

flash, 3,5,8

no flash

As you can see from these pics the packaging is totally cute, and these colours in my opinion are to die for. I can see these becoming some of my most used colours in my collection, and will repurchase in the near future.

What I love most about these are the price, these are currently on sale in Boots for an impressive £5.49, and also on their 3 for 2 offer so I managed to get the three of these for just over £10.

This collection will be released in other stockists on the 28th September, so if you don't want to wait til then I'd suggest hurrying down to your local boots as soon as possible.

Have you guys tried these out yet? Or intend to?

Product Buzz: Garnier BB Cream

I managed to get my hands on Garnier's BB Cream last week which has been surrounded by hype in the beauty world.

Amazingly this product sold out on its launch on Superdrug's website creating a online hype. I managed to get this cream for an impressive £7.99 while on offer in my local Superdrug.

So what is a BB cream? It stands for blemish balm cream, which has been one of Asia's hottest beauty products, this has even be used to heal laser skin surgery thanks to its soothing and skin-regenerating properties.

Released in the shades light and medium be sure to pick up the right one, luckily enough my mom picked light up as she didn't realised they came in different shades (bless her).

This product claims to be:

'An all in one skincare solution that immediately perfects your skin. The light, non-greasy formula gives even skin tone with a healthy glow, blurs imperfections and redness, smoothes the appearance of fine lines, hydrates for 24 hours and helps protect with SPF 15.'

I was surprised when I got round to using the product as the creams texture is similar to that of foundation which does thin when rubbed into the skin. The coverage that this stuff gives is brilliant, the past few days when I haven't wanted a full face of makeup I've simply been using it as foundation with a powder on top.

Flash was the best way at seeing it blended, as you can see it matches my skin perfectly.

It blends easily when applied with your fingers and due to it's thick consistency you find a little will go a long way. The good thing with this is that it's easy to blend just like a tinted moisturiser. The finish is dewy so if you have oily skin like myself you will have to apply powder to hide the shine (which has proved no problem for me).

After going into work with this on with Bourjois' Healthy Mix I had compliments on how good my skin and makeup looked.

I like how my skin feels both while it's applied and after, it definitely does feel hydrated and helps blur redness. What I found with this as well it does help improve your skin as during last week I was suffering from bad skin thanks to my monthly friend but using this definitely helped improve my skin.

I find the smell of this product lovely also, you can sometimes find creams that smell horrible but it's kind of hard to describe the smell but it's lovely but also smells quite natural if you get what I mean.

I'm loving this product as this is the first BB cream I have ever tried and won't be the last. As I mentioned I've been using this as foundation and have found that the staying power is great and surprising as I find some foundations don't last as long as this does. This is a product I will be repurchasing when I've used my bottle up.

So have you tried BB creams before?
