Top 5 Monday: Lip Glosses

Hi lovelies,

Hope you all had a great weekend and the snow didn't ruin it too much. My boyfriend ended up getting stranded in it leaving my house so my brother and I had to go help him (even with my bad knee). It's that time of the week for my top five, I was trying to do lip swatches of these products earlier but they didn't turn out great with the state of my lips so I'll combine swatches of these with my top five lipsticks.

Onto my top five:

LtoR: Collection 2000 Cream Puff, Mac Wonder Woman, Revlon Colorburst, Mac Cremesheen Glass and Jemma Kidd Hi-shine

1. Collection 2000 Cream Puff in Cotton Candy

As of lately this product is being raved by a lot of bloggers and I completely understand why, I've had this product since October and wasn't sure I'd like it initially with it being a matte gloss however that completely changed once I wore it.

I've found that even though this is a matte gloss it doesn't actually dry your lips out which is something you may expect with the matte finish. Instead it is very soft to apply and I find it lasts a lot longer than some of the lip glosses I own.

The only downsides to this product is the fact I only own the one and that the colour range is limited to only four colours. However hopefully this line will expand with popularity.

For the price you really can't complain - £2.99

2. Mac Wonder Woman Lipglass in Emancipation

This was one of my birthday treats when I went to Cheshire Oaks and the CCO, I was so happy to have spotted this especially in this colour. Now before I begin you probably all know about the size of the tube it comes in - it's enormous and so is the brush. Probably twice the size of any lip gloss, which means when applying you only need the smallest bit on the brush.

This is my favourite everyday nude lipgloss and I've found once applied this stuff lasts for ages, something I was surprised at given the formula. However don't get me wrong the formula isn't horrible I just find it a little sticky and when you're walking and your hair is blowing not good. The colour of this is simply gorgeous, a lovely nude with flecks of glitter. I love the scent of this lip gloss like many Mac lip products is comes with the standard vanilla scent.

The only problem I have found with this is no matter how softly you pull the applicator out extra gloss still ends up on the applicator which has to be scraped off before even applying.

3. Revlon Colorburst in Peony Pivoine

This has very quickly become one of my favourite lip glosses over the past few weeks, I got this in the three for two offer from Boots just before Christmas and hadn't actually used it until a couple of weeks ago purely because I wasn't sure about this product.

Boy I was glad I did use this, firstly the packaging is so chic considering it is classed as a drugstore brand, and find it looks very high end. The second thing I love about this is the applicator, this is a flat applicator which makes the process a lot easier as you get perfect coverage.

I love the way this lipgloss feels once applied, my lips feel very soft and moisturising which is a bonus. As you can see in the swatch photo these are very shiny which I think is great, and means this is a product I don't mind wearing on it's own.

However like many lip glosses the wear time isn't that great I find it will last a couple of hours maximum but I can live with that.

4. Mac Cremesheen Glass in Deelight

Another perfect nude lipgloss in my opinion, I received this for my birthday from the Mac Glitter and Ice collection. I believe you can get this from the normal collection as well and it wasn't limited to the Glitter and Ice collection.

As I mentioned before you're getting the vanilla scent with this product which is something I love - however if you're not a fan I will say the smell does wear off quite quickly. I find with this it has great staying power and can last over a few hours which is impressive considering it is such a light product you expect the colour to fade more quickly.

Deelight is basically an 'every look' colour as I have found it will go with so many looks whether it's a low maintenance BB Cream look, an everyday look or even for going out on a night. This is very hydrating on my lips which is an added bonus especially in the colder months.

I don't think I can really find a fault with the product I love it that much.

5. Jemma Kidd Hi-Shine Lipgloss in Petal

The last product in my top five was one I actually received while I was at the Clothes Show last year, I was so excited to get this and couldn't wait to try it out. This is another one of those products that I just simply adore the packaging - simple yet chic.

I find when applying this it does apply very sheer but also glossy and I find it applies evenly. When I first saw the colour I thought it would be very sheer and you wouldn't be able to see the colour however I find it's lovely on the lips - a subtle pink.

Petal is a lovely everyday colour and looks great with Revlon's Skyline Pink lipstick. This I find a great colour for the cooler months as I like to keep my cheeks darker and lips lighter.

So I hope you enjoyed my top five products and have any of you tried these products?
