Summer Essentials

Hi lovelies,

So I'd firstly like to apologise for the lack of posts over the past week, working both jobs has been manic (but rewarding) and then I've been feeling quite ill the past couple of days so that hasn't helped.

Anyways I am back and am ready to go, so now that the summer is approaching - ever so slowly over here in the UK as per usual, our makeup is also changing: hello bright lips, pastels and neutral eyes. So I wanted to share with you all my summer essentials. Unfortunately I'm not going to be going on holiday until September, but already I know that these will be some of the items that I will be taking with me.

So for my face I tend to go for thin dewy foundations in the summer, even though I suffer from oily skin I find Garnier's BB cream great, as my skin looks fresh but no too oily. However if you are looking for a higher end product I cannot say enough good things about Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua. Now because I'm using foundations with less coverage I have put my mini Pore Professional into this list, just so it keeps my skin at bay while wearing less coverage. Blusher wise I have opted for Benefit's Sugabomb, just because I love the choice of colour with this blusher and love the blended look of all four colours. A great cheaper alternative for this would be MUA's mosaic blusher.

It may come to no ones surprise that Urban Decay's Naked Palette is in my summer essentials, during the winter I found myself neglecting this palette, however now that the summer is here I have been reaching to this palette more and more (and more than Naked 2). The colours are great to work with and can look really natural depending on the look. When using this palette it has to be teamed up with their primer, so that your eyes look fresh and crease free all day. Mascara wise I have opted for a high street one, which is 17's Va Va Voom - I really like this mascara, it's cheap and cheerful and I find it gives lashes a lovely look. Brow wise I love Avon's and I find this very similar to my Mac one the only difference with this being that you get the brow brush also which for me is an added bonus.

Lips wise I would keep quite simply yet bright, I am really love Kate Moss's latest colours in her Rimmel collection, and 16 is a great shade for the summer. This brand is really great value for money and normally I don't go for Rimmel lipsticks but the Kate Moss collection would be one of my favourite  lipstick collection. Teamed with Revlon's Super Lustrous Gloss in Coral Reef, it makes a great summer combo. I am so glad I have this gloss, I actually got my hands on it at Christmas when it was in an offer at Boots - if you spent over so much on Revlon products you got a little box of goodies and this was among those.

Again this is a no brainer - if you read my blog you will know that I have a slight obsession with OPI and these would be my favourite colours for the spring. Elephantasic Pink is a gorgeous bright pink which looks great on both your hands and toes, and what can I say I'm a sucker for bright pinks. The other colour I have chosen is Rumples Wiggin which is a pale pastel purple another colour I have a weakness for. I might even wear these two colours together as they look lovely next to one another.

Now a summer essentials post couldn't have been created without this product! I cannot rave enough about dry shampoo - a product I have been using for about 7 years. Usually I stick with just the pink one but while Boots had a three for two offer on I thought I'd venture out to different bottles and really love the lace dry shampoo. The smell is gorgeous and not too overpowering, and I find with this one my hair doesn't get as white as it usually does.

Anyways these are my summer essential products, I'd love to hear what yours are!
