Tag: What's In My Bag

Hi lovelies,

So I've wanted to do the what's in my bag tag for a while and really enjoy reading others posts on this so finally got round to doing it. Hope you enjoy.

So here is my lovely little bag that I got from River Island a while back, I got the satchel for when I went back to uni in October and I've managed to surprise myself by keeping it for this long.

Here's what I have in my bag:

1. Pauls Boutique Purse - I've had this purse for nearly 2 years now and it's still going strong. The boyfriend got me this for our anniversary as I love the sailor look.

2. Boots Vouchers - Yeah had some vouchers and was tempted to use them

3. l'Occitane Hand Cream - This was a sample from a magazine and it's a handy size to keep in my bag.

4. Wrigley's Extra - Can't be without gum :)

5. Make-up bits and bobs - I don't know why I have two lipsticks in my bag, I do switch between the two so just lazy and keep them both in my bag. I have Topshop's Pillow Talk and Mac's Creme Cup in there.

Avon's Super Curl Mascara as I woke up ten minutes before I had to leave the house on Wednesday so there was a rush to get to uni. Barry M Liquid Liner, again same reason.

Burt's Bee's Lip Balm - simply love this and always need a balm as my lips are quite dry at the moment.

5. Memory Stick - It's cute

6. Hunger Games CD - Not only do I love the books but I have fallen in love with the soundtrack from the film, can't wait to go and see it just hope they stay true to the books like I've heard.

6. Spare Change - It just appears from nowhere

7. iPad & iPhone - I'm an Apple addict and got my hands on the pad a couple of weeks ago for uni as it saves me carting the Mac with me. Love my little iPhone - beats the blackberry that I had in place of the iPhone 3.

7. Tangle Tamer - After hearing about this product I had to get it since I like using the tangle teezer, and this is a lovely brush - works a dream on my extensions also.

8. Pen and Keys - I always clutter my keys with too many key rings, but that's how I like them. No matter how big a toy I fit on my car keys I still lose them in my bag.

9. Sunglasses - The sun has been out in force this week and I figured I'd use this glasses as I haven't in ages. I have a pair that I always keep in my car but figured these are floral and pretty so get my use of them.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I'm going to be vague and tag you all!

Soap and Glory 2 in one Foundation & Primer

Hi lovelies,

So quite a few people have asked my thoughts on this foundation and I figured I'd do a review on this foundation for you all.

I had been intrigued by this foundation for a while now as it claims to be both a foundation and primer in one. It comes with an SPF of 15 which is always good now that the weather is starting to warm up.

When I was looking at the colours in Boots I wasn't sure there would be a colour light enough for me as they all seemed quite orange. However I settled on 'The Fairest of Them All', I've found that this is probably one of the best colour matches I have in terms of foundation.

This I believe is the lightest colour they do, so for some of you this may still be quite dark. I'm not a big fan of their colours because the next colour up from this is a huge jump. It's a lot darker and orange.

Anyways onto the application: I must say now if you do put this on your hand I will warn you it will run like a bitch. I hadn't put much on but as you can see it soon started to spread on my hand.

Onto the BAD before image - I apologise for the state of my skin it's been bad of late need to get back into the sudocrem regime.

I thought by doing a before and after it would give you a more accurate look at both the coverage and sort of look this foundation will give you.

After:

So as you can see this foundation doesn't actually give much coverage - which I don't mind when the weathers getting warmer, and for uni I don't want to go cake face.

You can see however how it's evened my face out, whereas in the before picture I had quite a bit of redness but this does combat that and even out my skin. However you can see my imperfections still.

I do like this foundation, I find it a thin coverage foundation which can be built upon but it sort of reminds me of a tinted moisturiser. But if you want to go for a minimal look then this is perfect.

As for lasting power I do find it lasts a while, I cleanse my face with Anne French of a night and I applied this bad boy at probably 1ish and I was cleaning my face at 11 and it was still on my then - considering it's been quite warm today so I'm impressed.

If you are a fan of full coverage foundations then steer clear of this foundation as it will not be for you. However I do think this foundation is a bit pricey for the actual coverage you get, I paid £9 for this as Boots had knocked £2 off.

If you do like a natural coverage foundation and a light feel than this will be great for you, like I said I do like this for those qualities as I knew when I was getting this I wasn't getting a full coverage foundation.

It has quite a dewy finish which again is nice when it's warm, and I have oily skin and I don't have a problem with this foundation.

I hope this was helpful, have you tried this foundation before?

Ps. Quick photo from the wedding as James finally gave me his SD card:

The Sun Has Got His Hat On - OOTD

Hi lovelies,

Sorry for being a little MIA recently, I've had uni assignments - love the week 9 submissions. Luckily enough Easter is next week so I get a break from it all.

So if you're in the UK you may have noticed that since we entered Spring the weather has been very kind to us, offering us lovely sunshine and warmth.

I love it as it means we can start to peel back the amount of layers we have been wearing - and yes in my case I've been going to university in jumpers with tops underneath and cardigans and coats on top.

Anyways I thought I'd share with you my outfit for today that I wore to uni as I haven't done an OOTD in a while.

Top: Drop Dead
Skirt: H&M
Cardigan: F&F at Tesco
Tights: New Look
Shoes: Primark

I thought I'd include a close up of my top, it was actually pictured on Sadie Frost's daughter a while back and cause quite a bit of controversy. As she believed it was a nice top when you can actually see some of the messages are quite rude.

She blamed not knowing what they said as the reason behind her daughter being allowed the top, but I knew before buying it what it had on and sorta made me laugh - hence why I got it.

FOTD:

Thought I'd sneak a little FOTD also in - as you can see the sun in shining brightly in the background.

Foundation: Soap and Glory 2 in 1 foundation and primer - The Fairest of Them All
Powder: Mac Naturalised Skin Finish - Light
Blusher: Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades - Blushalicious
L'Oreal Super Liner
Blink + Go Mascara
Mac Lipstick: Creme Cup

Hope you enjoyed, and making the most of the nice weather,

NOTD: OPI Pedal Faster Suzi and Wear Something Spar-Kylie

Hi lovelies,

So as I mentioned in my last post I was at a wedding yesterday, and it was a really lovely day. I'm waiting on some photos from the boyfriend so I can try and show you my outfit - as I was in a rush in the day and didn't get round to doing an OOTD and FOTD.

Anyhow I did manage to get a photo of my nails in the morning and here they are:

So I used OPI's Pedal Faster Suzi from the Holland collection as I thought it was a gorgeous light pink with a subtle hint of shimmer. This colour matched my dress lovely, and to jazz the look up I combined it with NOPI's Wear Something Spar-Kylie from the Kardashian range.

I adore the pink glitter, and I think both work really well together. Even James' nan commented on my nails - bless her.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed. What's on your nails at the moment?

Lip Art

Hi lovelies,

So sorry for the lack of posts this week, I did get my manage to get my beloved MacBook back on Friday after it had £800 worth of repairs - luckily enough I had AppleCare.

However I am trying this post on my new toy - my iPad.

So on Thursday I went into uni to help my friend with her photography project where she was doing lip art designs, and I thought I'd share some of the looks I created.

The lovely Emma sent me the photos from the shoot so hope you enjoy them:

Instagram photo courtesy of the second lovely Emma.

So for the one look we did Panda lips, and during the shoot we had the idea to make it look like I was eating a leaf.

The second look I did was heart lips:

And an extra one of myself doing a design on Emma:

Unfortunately we kept making one another laugh too much, so I thought it would be quicker to do it on myself for the shoot.

Hope you enjoy, and sorry it's been a quick post today.
I'm at a wedding tomorrow and just finished doing my nails so look out for a OOTD, FOTD and NOTD.

March Harrods Glossybox

Hi lovelies,

I wasn't sure I'd be able to get this post up today as my little Macbook Pro is ill and has had to go to a Genius.

Anyways I received my Harrods Glossybox yesterday, and while I was impressed with the price of the items I recived, alongside a couple, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the contents.

So as you can see there is a nice range of products, however three of these are seen as moisturisers which for me ruins the variety of these boxes. Yes I know you can't pick and choose but it would be nice to have a mix of products not just a box of moisturisers.

Versace Vanitas Perfume - 4.5ml Sample

I was quite happy with receiving this, when I sprayed it I did really like the smell. I think this would be great for a 'night out' fragrance, and has quite a grown up smell (if that makes sense). I may wear this to a wedding I'm attending on Monday as I can pop it into my bag if it needs topping up.

I think the full retail price for the 50ml is £22 which infact is a really great price for the product, and I have seen some fragrance of the same size retailing for a lot more.

Bliss Body Butter

I got this moisturiser in the blood orange and red pepper. At first when reading the description I wasn't 100% sure as it didn't sound that lovely, however after applying I couldn't smell any of the pepper and the orange was lovely. Made me want to eat an orange.

I like the size of this product, quite generous and is a great size to pop in my bag. I think this retails at £20 which for me is a bit expensive for what the product is, but hey I like the sample.

Lancome Juicy Tube

Unfortunatley when I first saw this my reaction was not another lipgloss, I got the toffee flavoured gloss which when applied reminds me of popcorn. I was expecting to hate it when applied because I'm not a big toffee lover but I do like it.

The colour is quite nice, a lovely shimmer and my mom wasn't sure it would suit my skin tone but after applying it, I found it looked very different on the lips to in the tube.

Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream

My inital thought with this product: I'm only 20. Now yes they say that you should start early with anti-aging creams but for me I don't mind waiting. So I've gave my mom this product for her to try out, as I find myself with no use for it.

Revive Intensite creme luster

Again another creme designed to help older skin, and reduce the appearance of sagging. Even though I'm not happy with this product as I personally see no use for it I couldn't belive the price tag for the 60ml of this product - over £200!!!!

This has also been given to my mom to try out.

Anyways that is what I received in this months Glossybox, I would have loved to try out the Burberry lipstick.

Have you had this months box? What do you think?

Sunday Spending

Hi lovelies,

So I had my bursary come through this week, and even though I said to myself I'd be good with my spending. I went out and spent.

Soap and Glory 2-in-1 Foundation and Primer

I do love a bit of Soap and Glory and had been after this product for a while. However Boots currently are selling this for £9 as opposed to the usual £11, so I figured I'd pick this up. This is a 2-in-1 foundation & primer.

It says to activate the primer the bottle needs shaking and gives a dewy flawless finish. I've been looking for some lighter foundations and looking forward to giving this a try. Lately as I've been on reading week if I've gone out I've just been using my BB cream - Lazy I know.

Real Techniques Brushes

Stippling Brush

Theres been a lot of hype about the real Technique brushes by Sam from the Pixiwoo sisters. While I was in Boots I figured I'd have a look to see if my local store stocked them and I was pleasantly surprised to see them.

I got the stippling brush as I have a love for these when applying both foundation and cream blushers. When I first opened this I was shocked by how smooth the brush was, and noticed that it was a lot shorter than my other stippling brushes, so looking forward to using this.

Blush Brush

While I spotted these brushes I was drawn to this particular brush. I find with the blush brushes that I currently own (Sigma in particular) they are quite small so sometimes I have to go over my cheeks a few times.

When I saw this I was shocked by the size of the product but knew I had to try it out. I love the tapered design of this brush and is once again a very soft brush. When I opened it and felt the brushes softness I just started wiping it on my face - yes I'm that sad.

Core Collection

While getting the other brushes I also picked this up, mainly for the buffing brush. However once I got these brushes home and opened them up I fell in love with the others. The concealer brush is so small I'm in love with it - prefer smaller ones.

The set is great and contains basic brushes that would be perfect for anyone building their collection. The buffing brush has been used by both Sam and Nic to apply their foundation so I thought why not give it a go. The set also comes in a handy case which is great for travelling.

Really looking forward to using these.

V05 Elixr with Argan Oil

I was initially torn between this and the Argan Oil product in Superdrug. However this was on offer for £2.99 so I couldn't resist this as I was only trying Argan oil on my hair. £2.99 is better to waste than £9.99 especially if I don't end up liking the product.

I've heard some really good things about this and even though it's only a 50ml product I suppose it's great to take with you and test out.

River Island Robot Necklace

Since my birthday I've had a River Island voucher from work that has been sitting in my room. However I spotted this cute and quirky number in River Island and decided that I had to have it.

I had a similar one from New Look a few years ago, and what I love about this is not only the pink heart on the robot but the way that it reminds me of 'Bad Robot' that used to appear at the end of Lost.

I hope you enjoyed my little bursary spending spree.
Have any of you tried Argon oil on your hair? Or what do you recommend to help improve your hair?

Nail Polish Storage and Collection

Hi lovelies,

Firstly I'd like to apologise for not having a post up sooner, I was hoping to have this up Tuesday after finishing one of my uni assignments but every time I tried to upload the video YouTube was saying it was too long so re-filmed it quickly today.

Anyways I figured I hadn't done a video post in ages so I hope you don't mind and here it is:

Let me know what you think of the video post and whether you like these sorts of posts.

400 Followers + Bloglovin & Hello Cotton

Hi lovelies,

Just a quick post to say thank you guys for helping me reach 400 followers. I cannot believe I have reached this number and means a lot to me. When I first started my blog last year I didn't think I would ever reach this amount, and when I saw that number increase on my Dashboard it makes me a happy girly.

Though we all know that GFC will be disappearing soon, and it will also be leaving blogspot platforms. I figured I'd share with you two other ways of following my blog:

Just once again thanks to every single one of you :) Crikey this was a short post lol.

Magazine Freebies

Hi lovelies,

So this month I've found the magazines are giving away great freebies in their issue, and I thought I'd share with you my favourites:

Marie Claire:

This month Marie Claire have teamed up with Neal's Yard to give away one of their moisturisers. The 45ml Rehydrating Rose moisturiser is for normal skin and is worth £12.

I've wanted to try this out for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. I wasn't sure that this was going to do anything for my skin as I class it as oily, but I was surprised.

I've been using it daily since getting it and do really love it. I find it a little oily when applying but find it does dry into the skin, and doesn't my skin feel soft when using this.

I will see how I get on with this product and may consider re-purchasing. The range is quite expensive but the magazine also offer 20% off to its readers to be used until April.

Cosmopolitan

This month Cosmo have teamed up with Clinique for freebies, you can get your hands on four different products which together work out at £37.

Available are: Clinique's Superbalm Moisturising Gloss, High Impact Mascara, 7 Day Scrub Cream and Moisture Surge.

I chose the mascara after the recommendation from my mom (as she's a big fan of Clinique) and I can safely say I'm glad I chose this as I've fell in love with it. I've never tried the brand before but they are doing well in my opinion after using this product.

It has prompted me to wanting to try out the other products available this month with the magazine.

Glamour

For me personally, I've saved the best til last. I was really excited when I saw Glamour this month (not only because of my love for Jennifer Lawrence) when I saw Percy and Reed were offering four of their products with the magazine I couldn't wait to snap up the hair mask.

The four products to collect are their: Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner, Hydrating Mask and Flawless Finishing Polish.

I chose their hair mask because the one I've been using currently is running out. However to be fair I will probably get all four as together the set is worth £43.

The mask contains marshmallow and coconut oil - already sounds lovely, and helps treat stressed-out hair. I'm really looking forward to using this product and hope it lives it to the hype I've built around it.

Not only did this months magazine come with this amazing freebie, it also came with a little supplement magazine featuring all the top beauty looks.

Secondly before I was flicking through the magazine I said to my mom how cool it would be for the magazine to have a Estee Lauder sample of their latest foundation - after seeing all the ads for it. What happened to appear that exact sample. I cannot wait to try this sample out I think it might be a little dark for my skin but it means I can get a feel for it - and wear it inside just incase.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and have you got any of these freebies yet?
