April GlossyBox

Hi lovelies,

So when I got up this morning I was happy to finally receive my GlossyBox following the disappointing couple of months I've had with the company. However what struck me was instead of seeing the usual pink stamped box I was greeted with a normal cardboard box, and once opening the box I found that this months box was very organic and natural.

Because this month is Earth month the Glossy team have packed in five natural beauty products that are guaranteed to make you feel your best best, look gorgeous while helping the planet.

So on first impressions I can say I'm really happy and excited about this months box. This was the make or break it box for me and I might keep my subscription now.

Ayuuri Natural Body Wash

When I saw this and found I had the coconut one I was quite excited, I have recently finished my body wash and was after a new one so this one comes at the perfect time. It smells divine and is described as enhancing skin's natural beauty.

I'm looking forward to trying this out tonight, and retails at £4.95

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum

At first I wasn't completely sure what this was, but it's a face serum which ensures that your skin stays moisturised. I am actually going to try this out today while I go to uni and see how it works (perhaps like a primer). This is a newly launched product so this may be why I haven't heard of it before.

It smells quite sweet and reminds me of Neale's yard products and a little goes a long way.

You get a sample with this months box and the 30ml size retails at £29

Inika Cosmetics: Certified Organic Eyeliner

When I saw this I was hoping to not get some absurd colour as I haven't had the best look when it comes to eyeliner in terms of colour but I was quite happy to receive it in black. It looks a lovely product and I can't wait to try it out.

This is again a full sized product and costs £11.75

Kai Perfume Oil

Now this intrigued me the most when I saw it in the box, it's the smallest item however I think it's the most interesting. Kai is a perfume oil which is blended with gardenia and white exotics. It's a very sweet smell it doesn't remind me of a perfume rather a lotion.

The full size of this is £41 so it is quite expensive and that is for 3.60ml.

Figs and Rouge Lip Balm

This was the product I was most excited to see in my box, the packaging is so cute. I'm a big fan of lip balms (especially Burts Bee's) so when I saw this I was excited to use it. This can also be used on skin according to the little description on the guide. The product is 100% organic and is a multi-use balm. I got the colour Rambling Rose and I believe there are other colours available in this months box.

This is another full sized product and costs £3.29 so it won't break the bank.

And that is what I received in this months box, I hope you enjoyed. I must say they have upped the game following a couple of disappointing months.

Have you received this months box? What are you thoughts?

Revlon Lip Butter Review

Hi lovelies,

So yes I have jumped on the bandwagon and I purchased my first lip butter a couple of weeks ago. This was the first chance I've had to use it, (been lazy with being on Easter hols) and as today was the first day back at uni I figured I'd try it out.

I got the colour 'Strawberry Shortcake' after hearing great reviews of this colour. This lip butter is a gorgeous shade of pink, very wearable for both day and night looks. When applying it applies really smooth and glide on like a lip balm. I find the pigmentation is better than a lip balm but still they do need a couple of coats for a decent colour coverage.

I do love the packaging of these products, a few people have said about it looked outdated, however I think it looks quite chic. I love that the lids are coloured differently to match the product inside. However sometimes they can be a bitch to open.

I was surprised at how long these lasted, I found it lasting on my lips for around 3 hours - with eating, drinking and eating an ice lolly. I was expecting it to have gone after having a drink.

These are something I could see myself using daily, however when I think that they are retailed at £8 is something I find a little expensive considering what you get.

This is what the lip butter looks like on, I think it does look pretty on and very moisturising on my lips.

Quick OTD also:

Hope you guys enjoyed, have you tried the lip butter before?

£1.99 Miracle Skin Cleanser

Hi lovelies,

So I wanted to share with you a little wonder I have found for my skin, I usually find that my skin will breakout whenever it feels like it and when I do get a breakout it's bad. However I have found that using this little beauty on a night leaves my skin feeling great.

I firstly got this product back in February in the Glossybox, and when I saw the product I wasn't actually sure about it and whether I would ever use it. However when I looked into the product in more detail I found out about the uses and one of those is a cleanser for this skin.

Firstly, even though it doesn't look like much has been used literally three drops is all that is needed to cleanse your face so this product is going to last you ages. I initially tried this out to remove my makeup when I had run out of my Anne French and then found that it was also cleaning my skin out at the same time. One thing I've also found out about this is it does help dry out my t-zone which I normally find gets really oily.

To apply this on the face you put around three drops on your hand and then dilute slightly with water, and apply it to the face until it lathers. While on the skin this will begin to sink in, I like to leave it on my face for around 30 seconds and then gently wash and dry my face.

The next morning my skin feels and looks great, I've found that it's reduced redness and gets rid of spots really quickly. Within a week I have noticed a huge improvement (my bad for not continuing with this, cleaning my face and then forgetting to do it again).

The product doesn't look much when applied like this but a little truly does go a long way.

Like I said it does sink it quite quickly but a little rub with later the product up again.

I couldn't believe all the different uses for this product, the list includes: cleanser, brush cleaner, shampoo, can be used on teeth and even deodorant. The list is crazy!

What I find the best thing about this product the 59ml bottle which I have is only £1.99, now that was a surprise for me. A cleaner so cheap yet so effective.

If you did have this in your Glossybox I suggest finding it out and giving it a try.

Have you tried this product out?

Red Magazine: Liz Earle Freebie Alert!

Hi lovelies,

So while I was browsing the magazine aisles in WH Smiths the other day, Red magazine caught my eye. Now normally I don't tend to pick this up alongside my regulars but when I saw that May's edition included a small size of Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish Hot Cleaner I couldn't resist this.

With the magazine you get the 30ml size with one muslin cloth. The smaller product featured can actually be bought on the Liz Earle website for £5.50 (excluding p&p). So this is a great saving when the magazine costs £3.90, and with it you also get a couple of samples within the magazine.

This cleanser is amazing, and really gentle on the skin. I've been using it to take my makeup off at night and has really helped with the state of my skin. The sample also comes with instructions on how to use and clean the cloth.

If you haven't tried Liz Earle products out before this is a great way to get started, I have found this out for myself as before this I had looked at the various products but never actually got round to buying them. This is a great product and I will definitely purchase this when my sample runs out.

Samples of Estee Lauder's Invisible Fluid Foundation and Clinique's Repairwear Laser Focus.

Have you got this magazine yet? Or any other great freebies this month?

Be sure to check out the giveaway that I am currently running! :)

Steps OOTD & FOTD

Hi lovelies,

So I went to Steps last night at the LG arena in Birmingham and I literally relived my childhood. I treated my mom as an Xmas pressie and we managed to get third row seats - excited much!

Anyways I figured I'd show you my outfit and face for the gig.

Sorry for the crapping lighting took it when I got back in. Anyways for the outfit I wore the dress which was featured in my recent haul and the one thing I did notice during the night was I had to keep pulling the back down because it was really short.

Anyways the jacket I decided to wear an old blazer as I hadn't worn it in years, standard black tights and my dark grey army boots.

I did however during the concert stick on my geeky Steps top that I bought at the concert.

Onto the face:

Sorry for the quality, I took it on my phone while in the taxi. So for the face I didn't do too much (and some of it isn't showing in the pic).

What I used:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light
Mac Mineralised Skin Finish - Light and Blonde (blusher)
Smashbox Blonde Eyeshadow
L'Oreal SuperLiner Black
Blink + Go Mascara
Mac Creme Cup Lipstick
Mac Villians LipGlass Hot House
Avon Eyebrow Pencil (from lastest haul)

Anyways I hoped you enjoyed and here's a sneaky pic from the concert:

Ps. I'm working on a giveaway which I will announce shortly as I got the item today (which I hope you will all like)

Haul Time

Hi lovelies,

Wow the Easter hols are flying by, even though I'm not doing much. I am being a bad blogger at the moment not getting my posts up :(

Anyways, I've been doing a bit of shopping with the overdraft which is never good, and my mom also treated me to a few bits which I thought I'd share with you.

To justify my spending I've actually been buying a few bits and bobs for my holiday in the summer, I just couldn't help myself.

First up is this lovely dress from Republic, I've been eyeing this for a while now and finally got it yesterday. I love the design of this especially with the skirt. However this is quite short and I'm only 5'3 so I don't know how taller girls would manage with this.

I really like this dress apart from a couple of issues I've had with this - length and size. Slightly annoyed with the sizings of this dress I initially bought a 12 which is my size and I couldn't get the bugger on it was so tight. Now I know it's Easter and I did actually weigh myself as I'm on a bit of a diet and found that considering I'd been stuffing myself I hadn't put the weight on. However went into the store today and picked two of the same size up and noticed over an inch difference in width. WHAT!

Anyways enough of my sizing ramblings.

The next item I noticed today when swapping my dress. I had been after a pair of pink jeans - the girly side of me was screaming for a pair. These were the exact shade of pink I had been after. Even better they had been reduced to £20 and then got discount on top.

Anyways I love these not only because of the colour but also the fabric, the jeans are so soft to touch and lovely to wear. I'm going to Steps tomorrow - I know geek! And may actually wear these tomorrow.

Grr I hate taking photos in the dark they never turn out right. Anyways I got these from Dorothy Perkins, and I already own a pair of these. I love them so much they are a lovely comfy pair of jeans - almost jegging like because they are stretchy. A steal as I managed to get 25% off with a VIP code.

Lastly clothes wise I popped into TK Maxx

I was so excited to spot these yesterday, they are a lovely pair of linen shorts and once I saw they were Tommy Hilfiger I was like sold! I couldn't believe the current price and the RRP talk about bargain. I got these for the holiday and looking forward to wearing them.

Another pair of lovely shorts, I was debating these yesterday and went back to get them today. I love how cute they are and again another steal. I got them for £9.99 instead of the RRP of £45. These will be great to wear with my swim stuff around the theme parks.

Onto the makeup:

Just a couple of Avon bits, the lipstick actually came free with they eyebrow pencil. The pencil is becoming one of my favourite ones beating my beloved mac.

The rents went on holiday and I told my mom as she was going to be by a CCO to pop in and see what was there. She did pick me this beauty up and was so happy when she got me this. I loved the Villian's collection and I love this item.

Anyways, that was my haul sorry it was a bit pic heavy.

Will try and get a post up Friday might be a FOTD & OOTD as I'm seeing Steps tomorrow.

Mini Haul

Hi lovelies,

So just got a few bits and bobs that I've picked up over the past couple of days, and wanted to share them with you.

Boots currently have a 3 for 2 offer on makeup so of course I couldn't resist when I popped in yesterday.

I was happy to see that they had the new Models Own collections in store, however I did want to get Ibiza Rocks which they didn't have so just settled with Indian Ocean - which I can't wait to try out.

I saw Bourjois latest foundation and thought why not try it out as I'm a fan of their foundations. Their 1,2,3 perfect foundation claims to have 3 pigment correctors inside including: yellow, mauve and green which reduce dark circles, dull complexions and redness.

The last item I picked up was a 'blonde moment' I saw this Bourjois blusher (34 Rose D'or) in the new section of their products and thought it looked really pretty, and didn't think I had it so thought why not. However once I got home and had a look at my collection I found that I already have this colour - what a silly bum.

However it is a gorgeous colour - but if any of you are interested in this blusher let me know as I might try and sell it :)

I also got Smashbox's two in one concealer from QVC as a double pack which my mom and I have shared. This can be used with water - which I thought was strange until I saw the woman do it so it has two consistencies.

I swatched this yesterday and it felt lovely, so looking forward to using it as my skins been crap lately.

I did pop into Debenhams also to have a look at Estee Lauder's Invisible Fluid foundation, and snapped up a sample to try before splurging on it. The lady at the counter did put it on my face in store and it felt lovely to wear, soft and light - perfect for the summer.

So i'll see how I get on with the sample.

Lastly following my donut bun post I went past Claire's today and fell in love with their buns, especially because they had various sized ones. I snapped this one up:

This one is about double the size of the ones I currently have so looking forward to trying this out, they also had one double the size of this which I wanted but wasn't sure how it would work with my hair - whether I'd need my extensions in for length.

I'll see how I get on with this first as I love big big messy buns.

Anyways that was my little haul - I hope you enjoyed, and let me know if you're interested in the blusher. I'd probs be looking for £6ish with postage as it's £7.50 in store.

Donut Bun Obsession

Hi lovlies,

Sorry for the lack of posts over the weekend been working both days so I haven't had time to get round to blogging.

Quite happy this week and it's only Monday! I went to see the Hunger Games tonight - finally which I loved, don't think the boyfriend enjoyed my comparisons to the book but he too enjoyed it. Also had a conformation email from uni to say I had got the job of a student mentor.

Anyways being a student means I am lazy and a bit of a slob, so when it comes to doing my hair recently I've succumb to just putting it up. I always wanted to be able to do a nice big bun however was unable to with having both thin and short hair.

However once I got my beloved donut this all changed.

So as you can see I own a few of these lovely little accessories, and in different colours. The reason behind this is I've found that the darker ones blend better with my hair - even though I'm a blonde.

I've found when it comes to going to work I always stick my hair up for convenience and because it takes me like two minutes to do.

These little miracle workers can be used for various hairstyles: ballerina buns, top knot buns, messy buns - anything you want.

Lately I've been doing messy buns because I tend to prefer these to neater ones as it means if it doesn't go right when putting your hair in the bun it doesn't necessarily matter, and still looks fine.

Sorry for both the state of my room and self.

So yeah this is the look I tend to go for a messy bun and with some hair grips and hairspray I'm good to go.

You can tighten and neaten the look for a cute bun, but I find sometimes I just can't be bothered as it takes so long to even out and all that.

It also gives the impression of more hair when you don't necessarily have it.

These little beauties can be picked up really cheap either in stores or online. I think the most I've ever paid is a fiver and that was an expensive Asda brand - Mia or something.

I know New Look sells them at £3.99

I hope you enjoyed this post, and are you a fan of messy buns?
