Winter Floral OOTD

Hi dolls,

I hope you are all good, how cold has it become recently? I went to my car this morning and there was just a thick layer of frost - never good! All I ever want to do is get the joggers on and get comfy on the sofa for the rest of the night.

Anyways, as this weather is a little depressing I wanted to get one of my old summer dresses out and make it appropriate for the winter;

On a side note I really need to stop pulling gorm faces!

Zip Dress; Republic
Jumper; H&M
Tights; Primark
Boots; Office
Necklace; Dorothy Perkins
Cross and Skulls Bracelet; Claire's Accessories
Skull Bracelet; Achica*

Face:

Foundation; Maybelline Fit Me
Blusher; Benefit Bella Bamba
Eyeliner; L'Oreal Super Liner
Mascara; Lancome Hypnose
Lips; Terre d'Oc in 207*

So I went for a zip overload, with my zipper dress and jumper with side zips (which I must say I got for because of the gorgeous pics of Lana Del Ray wearing it). I really adore this combo, it's something really easy yet comfortable. I hate not being able to wear any of my summer dresses in the colder months but this is a combo I'm sure I'll start incorporating into other pieces.

Have you re-styled any of your clothes for the winter/

Birthday Haul!

Hi dolls,

I hope you all had a great weekend, I'm doing something a little different and I hope you'll enjoy. Instead of doing a blog post on my birthday I figured I'd do it in video format.

I really hope you enjoy watching! I apologise now for the weird faces and mumblings on that I do.

Let me know if you like the video posts, and want to see more.

21st Birthday Shenanigans!

Hi dolls,

So sorry for the lack of posts this week, firstly I have been bombarded with uni work so I've been trying to get as much done as possible before Wednesday and the weekend. Secondly it was my 21st birthday on Wednesday and have extended the celebrations to the weekend where James is taking me away to Chester!

Here are a few photos from Wednesday that I wanted to share with you all:

1. Pretty Pink 21 balloons / 2. Another pretty 21 balloons, and my conservatory has been filled with many birthday balloons - bless my family! / 3. My gorgeous flowers from James, a dozen each of white and red roses. / 4. My meal outfit including the sash my mom made we wear. Jumper - Henry Holland at Debenhams, AA Disco Pants.

So here are a few photos from Wednesday. I adore my new Disney phone case it makes the phone a brick but I don't care as it's so darn cute!

I was shocked when my parents bought my cake in, as I had just been given a One Direction one which I was happy with. However to see that they had gone to the effort to make me a Louis Vuitton one made me such a happy girl. It tastes delicious too! Chocolate cake is always a winner.

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet as I have some packing to do, for my little weekend break. However I hope you enjoyed and I should be back on Monday with another post for you lovelies!!

Make Up For Ever: HD Complexion Starter Kit

Hi dolls,

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the lack of posts this week been a little busy with university and dissertation writing *oh the joy*. Anyways I thought I would do a little review on the Make Up For Ever (MUFE) HD Complexion Starter Kit that I picked up while on holiday.

I sort of knew when I went to Sephora on holiday that this foundation was definitely going to be purchased, however when I saw this set online I wasn't sure if I'd be buying it individually or as part of this set. However this foundation retailed at $42 and the set was only $79 so for value wise this worked out great.

Sephora state that the complexion starter kit actually has a retail value of $114 so you are getting a great bargain. I think this set is also a good way of getting into the brand, especially if you do not have a Sephora close or live in the UK where it is hard to obtain MUFE. This set allows you to not only get your full size foundation but also try out their primer, powder and their cute like kabuki.

So like I said initially I got this set because of the foundation, it had been on my wishlist for a while and I caved while I was away. Now I have used it sparingly at the moment; one because I am trying to get rid of other foundations and second because I don't want to rush and use it all up at once - I really want it to last!

The reason for that is because I have fallen in love with this foundation, and I am planning my trip to France with the mother purely to go Sephora shopping (sad I know)!

Here are a couple of swatches of the foundation:

HD Foundation

I got myself colour matched in store and the assistant matched me with 117 Marble which is aimed at those with light skin with yellow undertones. Now normally when I get a foundation with yellow undertones it scares me because I never think my skin tone is that yellow, I will always tend to go for an ivory shade with pink undertones but I must say when applied on my skin it matches flawlessly. Something I was a little worried it wouldn't once I got home.

I really like MUFE shade chart, I think they have a great choice of colours hence why I got myself matched, it was a little daunting trying to match myself when I could have literally chosen from about 4 colours which I felt would have matched my skin.

The finish on this foundation I find is very natural, while giving a dewy glow to the skin - and probably my favourite foundation in terms of its finish. The foundation itself is said to be a medium to full coverage which will hide imperfections and balance the skin tone while appearing invisible, this was a claim I wasn't sure if it would live up to purely because I find that sometimes my Estee Lauder Double Wear can apply a little cakey. However this is not the case, this is a very natural looking foundation and blends effortlessly - which is why it is given the name it is because the idea behind this foundation is that it will appear very natural for HD video recording.

I find that while it states it's a higher coverage foundation I still find it very light on the fact and doesn't weigh your skin down, which I find is always a good thing in a foundation. Application wise I can literally cover my face in about 2 pumps, so you find that you don't need a lot of it to cover, however it can be built if need be.

Lasting power can be anything from 6-8 for myself, however my t-zone will need the little addition of powder but that is no biggie for me as it's something I do out of self consciousness anyway.

Packaging wise is something I adore, very similar to the Urban Decay Naked foundation, in terms of design and plastic bottle (think we know where Urban Decay got their idea from). But it's simple and I like that, I also feel safer carrying this around; one because it's plastic and secondly because of the double layered packaging.

HD Powder

The HD Powder is another product I have fallen in love with from first application, once applied it reminds me of Porefessional purely because of the velvety texture that you can feel on your skin. Just like the foundation this feels really light weight to the skin once it has been applied and I tested this over my BB creams to get a sense of how well it mattifies the skin and it really does a great job on those.

It's not something I would necessarily use on all of my foundations as for me personally it can look a little too matte, but it is still something I adore. This was my first experience with a white translucent powder - and the reason behind this is because I have always feared of ghost face with it haha. I combine this with the cute little kabuki and it works great on my skin.

Anywhoo, long story short really do love this product and glad to have tried it in the set.

HD Primer

The HD Primer is yet another product I have fallen in love with, it's my favourite formula in terms of a primer (if that makes sense) and a little really does a long way. Because of this it does feel a little oily when applying but that is not the case as I tend to apply this on my t-zone and it does not make it more oily or enhance the oils in this area.

Now I have heard some reviews for this that they don't like the smell, but personally for me I do - can't really explain why but I do just like it. I think this really helps with the longevity of your foundation and will keep it in place for the day and helps to avoid those dry patches that can sometimes form - for me especially round the corners of my nose.

Secondly I really love the base that this primer gives for applying your makeup, it provides a really smooth base which means your foundation will fly on and just makes the process not only smoother but quicker - so a thumbs up for that.

All in all this is a great set, and you do get a good saving in terms of the retail price and the Sephora price. I just wish it was easier to get a hold of in the UK! Even though it is a little expensive I do think it would make a great Christmas present for any makeup enthusiast as the products are really great and for me are personally worth the cost.

I hope you enjoyed, have you tried Make Up For Ever before? If so what products would you recommend?

Mac Glamour Daze Lipsticks: Innocence and Glamourdaze

Hi dolls,

Today I wanted to share with you a couple of new additions to my Mac collection, since the Glamour Daze Holiday collection hit the shelves my wish list has grown and luckily enough my birthday is next week so the mother treated me to these lovely shades!

The collection is made up of five gorgeous shades: Beauty a very pale frost pink, Dramatic Encounter a dark purple, Glamour Daze a rich dark rose, Innocence a nude coral and Outrageously Fun a vibrant purple.

I went for Innocence and Glamour Daze as these were my favourite shades from the collection. Saying that I did want to get the shade Beauty but when I swatched it in the Mac counter I felt it would be too pale for my skintone, however I might have a look again when I go away and get the SA's to pop it on my lips to see how it looks.

Starting with the packaging I love how they have gone for the statement black bullet, with the addition of the glossiness (similar to the Marilyn Monroe collection) and I find that simplicity works here with the packaging. It's very chic and stands out from the core collection!

Both lipsticks are scented with the traditional vanilla scent that comes with all Mac lipsticks and is personally something I love about their products.

Because these lipsticks are part of the limited edition holiday range the price is unfortunately bumped up to £15.50, which I don't mind paying because I think the products are great. However it is slightly annoying now that Mac have started to add an additional cost to the limited edition lines, especially as some of the items they release are a part of the core collection just re-packaged.

Innocence

Now if you read my blog you will know I am such a big fan of nude lip colours, so this was a must have for me! I love the tones of this shade, the coral lipstick has gorgeous peach undertones which gives a gorgeous glow perfect for both day and night.

Innocence has a frost finish which means it's super shiny and very creamy when applying, but will highlight any dry areas on your lips. In terms of lasting power I find this lasts around the 3-4 hour mark which for a frost lipstick is really good, I find that the pigmentation is good for a nude colour but will still need to be built up for a great shade payoff.

I find the best way to wear this lipstick is to apply a thin layer of lip balm before apply makeup to make sure it has settled and then place this on top to keep the lips moisturised. This will be a lipstick that will see me through to the spring!

Glamourdaze

Firstly wow! What a gorgeous shade, for the winter I have been trying to get into darker shades of lipstick and I thought this would be the perfect way to kickstart my love for these shades. Glamourdaze is a lighter plum / dark rose shade which is once again a perfect shade for any look, and find it really complements my skin tone (something I was worried it wouldn't).

This lipstick has a cremesheen finish which is my all-time favourite mac finish, and is also very creamy when applying. However I did find this shade worked better when popping a thin layer of balm underneath. I found that this lipstick lasted around the 4-5 mark which is great, but do make sure to keep an eye on this as you will find when it starts to fade the outer marks will still be visible and is not a nice look.

Glamourdaze is probably my favourite lipstick from the collection and can see it becoming one of my everyday favourites during the winter, and may even see about getting a backup of this as this is limited edition.

I hope you enjoyed, have you bought anything from the Glamour Daze collection? If so what are your favourite pieces?

Magazine Freebies: December Marie Claire

Hi dolls,

So last week saw the release of a few more magazines which meant more amazing freebies! This month Marie Claire have teamed up with Jemma Kidd to offer two great products. However it's a little sad to hear the news that Jemma Kidd's makeup range has gone into administration as I'm sure an offer like this would have helped boost sales.

Being completely honest I have only tried Jemma Kidd thanks to magazines when doing offers. This is probably down to the fact that they aren't the easiest products to get a hold of in store, and I don't tend to buy too much makeup online unless I have either seen it in person beforehand or was completely sure I wanted it. According to the magazine the duo is worth £19 when combined so for £3.70 you are getting a treat!

I knew this months I'd want to try both products, I got the last Jemma Kidd mascara that was featured as a freebie in I believe Red magazine? Honestly I loved the mascara so couldn't wait to try another from the range.

This month you can choose between the i-define volumising mascara and the instant lift skin perfect primer. The packaging on both products is really cute, alongside the signature JK they have a lovely little floral pattern which is the same on both products.

The smell of the uplifting primer actually reminds me of skincare, but nonetheless smells really lovely. It's a clear formula which is really smooth to apply, and have already applied it a couple times and already am in love with it.

I tried the mascara for this first time this morning and fell in love with it, I had high expectations for this following the last one I had tried and this really doesn't disappoint! In a way I don't want to use it all up straight away incase I can't then get my hands on it again.

Hope you enjoyed, and let me know if you've made use of this freebie?

Avengers OOTD

Hi dolls,

Just a quick one today, little outfit post on what I wore to uni on Wednesday on my first day back after reading week and I thought I'd make a little effort.

Jumper: Forever 21
Blouse: Glamorous via Republic
Necklace: Dorothy Perkins
Jeans: New Look
Pumps: Converse
Hat: River Island

I love this jumper, I got it while I was on holiday in Florida and live in it all the time, it's not only comfy but quite warm considering the thin material. I am a big nerd when it comes to the Avengers so when I saw this in store I knew I had to get it.

One thing I have loved since the cold weather has set in is the jumper/shirt combo! It allows you to layer up while looking stylish at the same time. I love the Glamorous shirt it's longer in the front and back which is perfect to team up with leggings and has a lace insert on the front of the shirt which makes it really girly. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago in the Republic sale for £10 - bargain alert!

Hello new extensions! I got some new extensions the other week and have been playing around with these, I tend not to stray from Headkandy but I am in love with this set. They are slightly longer than my usual but have received lots of comments and look for a separate review coming soon!

Hope you enjoyed, sitting here in my newly acquired disco pants trying to stretch them a little, does anyone know if these do stretch? PS. I'm featured in the digital edition of Cosmo this month - exciting times, so do let me know if you see me in it!

NOTD: Movember Inspired Nails

Hi dolls,

So November officially means that it is Movember, a month where guys grow their moustaches in aid of charity, and I think it's a great cause and I enjoy seeing my male friends getting involved. However it's not only the boys that can have all the fun of showing their beards off us girls have our nails.

So I thought I'd do a little Movember inspired nail art, and I wanted to keep this look quite simple so as a base I used my usual OPI Nail Envy and then popped on OPI's Skull and Glossbones from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection. This is a gorgeous muted grey and thought this would be a great colour to team up with my little moustache.

For the moustache itself I used Andre Fulerton's Dot and Flick pen, and my trusty dotting tool. I started with the dotting tool to create the top of the moustache and then used the dotting section to create small dots to create the shape out the moustache, I then used the flick side to join the dots up and fill in the shape.

Overall I'm really happy with the finished result and can't wait to show off my Movember!

Have you lovelies done anything in celebration of Movember?

PS. I am now offering advertising packages for any of you who are interested and that can be found under the PR/Contact/Sponsorship page.

Magazine Freebies: December Glamour

Hi dolls,

November is here at that means the magazines are starting to release their December issues, which for beauty fanatics like us mean freebie alert! This month Glamour have once again teamed up with Nails Inc to offer readers a choice of four colours.

If you have seen my other magazine freebie posts you'd know that I end up buying every shade possible when it comes to nail polishes. However I thought I'd be a good girl and just get the one as I already have so many variations of the other polishes available.

You can choose from Elizabeth Street which is a really cute pale pink, Glamour Glitter a gold glitter, St James a deep red and finally Motcomb Street a dark navy which is the one I picked up. I have been after a new dark navy shade for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to snap one up at a bargain.

I really love Nails Inc polishes so when thinking about it you could pick 4 polishes up for the price of one with this months magazine.

In the magazine itself you do get a handful of great samples which include: Rimmel BB Cream, Nivea Express Primer (which I have in full size so expect a review soon) and Max Factor Face Infinity. Surprisingly enough the foundation samples were in my shade which meant I could actually try them out and not just chuck them.

Lastly you might be thinking why am I including a photo of Cheryl Cole, but I saw the jumper and fell in love. This is one my Xmas wishlist when Elizabeth Lau releases her amazing collection.

Have you got Glamour yet this month? If so which shade did you get?

Mac Marilyn Monroe Lipstick: Pure Zen

Hi dolls,

Hope you're having a fab weekend, I'm a little late on the Marilyn Monroe posts just literally haven't got round to reviewing it until today. I am a big fan of nude lipsticks, but I must say in my collection I don't really have many peach nudes so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to add another.

Now first things first, how cute is the packaging of the Marilyn Monroe collection, I have the blushers also and I'd buy the products just purely for the packaging. The lipsticks are just gorgeous from the box to the chosen image of Marilyn. Unfortunately as I'm not the biggest fan of darker shades I opted out of getting the other colours in the collection as I couldn't justify the price for something I may not wear.

Pure Zen is listed as a frosty warm nude which I don't actually think it is, for me it is a very sheer nude which does need layering. But when I think of a warm nude I think of the musky pink based lipsticks I don't know about you? What I like about applying this is the formula, think typical cremesheen by Mac lipsticks - it's very creamy and has a gorgeous shine once applied.

I love the way this looks on as well, I had fears that it would look like foundation white lips but it doesn't and I feel it looks very natural and is a perfect everyday shade for myself and will take pride of place among my other nudes.

Like I said the only negative really for me would be the pigmentation of this lipstick as it is quite sheer so you can be applying this for a good few minutes before getting it to a shade that you are happy with.

If you do want to get your hands on this lippie but worried because the collection is sold out, Pure Zen is actually a part of the core collection of lipsticks which means you won't have to fork out the £15.50 for the collection one. I did have a quick look on Mac's website and saw they were out of stock in Pure Zen so it may be something you have to check your local counter for.

Have you tried this colour before, what do you think of it?

Kate Moss for Rimmel: Matte Lipstick in 101

Hi dolls,

So if you read my blog regularly you may already know that I am a huge fan of the Kate Moss collection released by Rimmel and already own about 6 of these. When I heard that they were introducing a matte collection to the range I wasn't too sure at first because I have a tendency to not get on with matte lipsticks but figured as I had the Boots points I'd treat myself and give it a try.

I picked up the shade 101 as I felt it was the most practical shade for me.

The shade 101 is the lightest from the collection and is a blue based pink, and considering its matte formula it is very creamy in application. I wouldn't go as far to say that this is completely matte, I find it more of a semi-matte formula but still if you have dry lips it's going to show as you can see in the one photo (damn you cold weather!)

One of the things I have always liked from this collection is the packaging, and I adore the red packaging I think it still looks very chic and an easy way to distinguish your previous colours to the matte. I think the signature is something that is very personal about the collection, it may seem strange when reading this that I'm going on how I like the signature but it's just that personal touch to the collection that I like.

Now when comparing the matte range to the previous you will notice that these lipsticks have a strong smell to them almost perfume like, now while that is nice to smell it isn't very nice once you have applied the lipstick and it ends up in your mouth. I found this when taking the photos while sipping my drink the lipstick got in my mouth and it wasn't pleasant, it's not enough to put me off however as I think these are a great affordable lipstick.

I have found when applying these shades, even when swatching them in store the colour payoff is great, they aren't thin in terms of colour but instead very pigmented which means you only apply the lipstick a couple of times over the lips.

In terms of lasting power, I will admit it's pretty average. I find that it can last anywhere from 2-3 hours which considering it's meant to be a matte lipstick isn't too bad. However I don't mind the lasting power as I tend to constantly re-apply when it comes to lipstick as I like my lips looking fresh with colour.

Lastly one thing I will say for this their timing with this collection is a little crap, as it's the winter and we are suffering from those horrible dry lips and wearing this collection is not going to help us at all. I was in two minds about putting up a closeup photo of my lips at first, but I figured I wanted to show you lovelies what the product looks like on dry lips so moisture is key when using these.

Apart from that I do love this collection, and will be sure to add many more to my growing collection. They retail for £5.49 so it's a little bargain, even more so if you go to Boots and take advantage of their 3 for 2.

Have you tried any of the Kate Moss matte lipsticks?
