Do Brunettes Have More Fun?

Hi loves,

So if you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed that I have undergone a little change, and on Friday I took the plunge and changed my hair colour. I know I normally do battle with the different shades of blonde, but this time I have gone darker and when I mean darker I mean no longer blonde.

Sorry for the crappy quality, I used my phone before I went out to a meal yesterday. Anywhoo, I was a little worried about whether or not it would suit me as I've always been blonde with the exception of when I was 16 and went very dark and it completely washed me out. It's still a bit weird going to the mirror and seeing that my hair is dark but it's growing on me and I love that it's a natural light brown.

What do you guys think? Are we loving the brown?

NOTD: Sparrow Me The Teenage Dream

So with Valentines Day being last week I wanted to do just some simple yet cute nails for the occasion. I had originally planned on doing nails which had a glitter gradient but instead focused on two of my favourite OPI colours.

OPI's Sparrow Me The Drama & Teenage Dream

For this look I teamed OPI's Sparrow Me The Drama and Teenage Dream for a cute pink look. I have always been a sucker for bright pinks so couldn't resist doing this look for the special day. I think now that we are getting into Spring I'll be jumping right back into those gorgeous pastel shades and vibrant glitters.

As a top coat polish Teenage Dream is simply stunning, I adore it over any polish and think it really helps colours to stand out. I wish they were more easily available because I could see myself getting a back up bottle.

Sorry the post is so short, but I hope if you celebrated it you all had a fab Valentines whether it was spent with your other half, family or friends.

New Look Lazy Weekends

Weekends are the perfect excuse to kick back and indulge in laziness – and thankfully that doesn’t mean having to lounge about in your scruffiest PJ’s anymore. Instead, pamper yourself with maximum comfort in cute and quirky style. Onesies and teddies are perfect to keep you toasty while you catch up on your favourite soaps, while comfy tee dresses give an easy polished look for when you absolutely need to venture out. Check out our top style picks for the ultimate lazy weekend.

Cute and flirty all in ones

What can be better for comfort than the all in one? The surprising trend that’s exploded all over the place – as celebs, MPs and us lesser mortals all confess to loving their onesie, it’s time to get kitted out with one, if you haven’t already. With a great range of styles around – from whimsical and playful animal outfits, to slubby-chic in soft tones and even softer fabrics, the onesie is your style investment in luxurious comfort.

Top styling picks for this trend include the cute paisley print all in one – with a dainty and delicate print, this looks cute and feminine. For a play on another major trend this season, you can’t go wrong with the NERD emblazoned all in one – with slogans and typographics making a big splash, these brings the look into the fashionable stakes.

The perfect teddy

For a touch of romance or for total cosiness, the teddy promises a truly relaxed time. Sweet, delicate and utterly dainty, a teddy is the ideal nighttime outfit for PJ parties with the girls. We love this pretty lilac number – with a faint geometric print, it looks stylish and classic. In soft, light cotton, this will be a firm favourite in summer – especially when it comes to lounging about on lazy Sundays with breakfast in bed (hopefully!) just add super snuggly sheepskin boots and you’re good to go!

Weekend brunch style

Weekend brunch means you’ve got to drag yourself out – but that doesn’t mean you have to lose the comfort factor. Keep things easy and relaxed by opting for loose, light layers – a pair of leggings layered over with a loose tee dress, light as air cardi and a biker jacket to add toughness and texture. Or if you can’t face changing, stick to your onesie and add a cool, slouchy cardigan on top to make your look brunch-ready – we love contrasting a sweet heart print onesie with a Scandi style Fair Isle knit. Finish off the look with an off-duty-model style beanie, a wave of mascara and a slick of lip gloss – and of course the requisite ankle boots – and voila! You’ll look laidback and polished without making any effort at all.

I love this idea of having lazy days whilst looking cute, do you enjoy lounging in your onesie or enjoy dressing up?

Mac Archie's Girls Betty Bright Lipstick

Mac Archie's Girls Betty Bright Lipstick

I don't think I've been so excited for the release of a Mac collection in recent months, I loved scrolling online for swatches, images and so on of the Archie's Girls range. When I heard that Selfridges exclusively released the collection early I had a little trip down to Birmingham to update my collection.

The collection is divided into two characters: Betty and Veronica, Betty's products feature bright pinks, muted eyeshadows and peachy blushers. Whereas Veronica's range is full of deep plums and pinks and bright reds. What makes this collection stand out more than anything is the cute packaging, I find that the cartoon graphics just add a bit of oomph and fun to the range, and even the boxes are dressed with the same graphics.

Naturally I fell in love with the Betty range, so I found myself stocking up on many products from her collection. The first product I wanted to review would be my favourite from the collection, and that is the Betty Bright lipstick. The lipstick is described as a "light vibrant peach" with a satin finish. However I tend to disagree with the description and find it more of a vibrant coral shade which is why I initially fell in love with the lipstick.

A signature part of Mac lipsticks is the vanilla scent and this is apparent here, I know some people don't always love the smell of this but I personally do and has always been a big positive for me when buying Mac products.

I find this glides easily onto the lips despite its satin finish, and does not feel drying which is a major plus for me. The formula I find is quite creamy which is something I adore in a lipstick, and does slightly remind me of the consistency of the Cremesheen range from Mac. Once applied this is a lot more vibrant that what it looks on the bullet, and was quite surprised how vibrant this looked on my skin tone, however because it did this it has made it one of those stand out colours within my collection.

However one thing I have noticed with this is that when wearing it will sink into your lips if they are dry which is not always attractive so this will be better to wear when the weather heats up or when your lips are in good condition.

I have worn this non-stop since purchasing it on Thursday and have found wear time to be around 3 hours, which was expected considering the formula.

Price wise this retails at £15.50 which is higher than their normal range lipsticks, but is expected as their collection pieces are usually higher than normal lines. However limited edition line prices have also risen since their normal range lipsticks have gone up to £14, as I'm convinced specials were only around the £14 mark.

I love this product so much I am contemplating getting a back up when the collection hits stores and Mac online on the 19th February.

Have you managed to try any of the Archie's Girls products out yet? Are you a fan of Betty or Veronica?

ELF 100pc Marble Eyeshadow Palette

Hi dolls,

I hope you've had a fabulous weekend! I want to thank you all for staying with me through my uni work and everything. Luckily enough I sat my last exam on Friday so now only have three more hand ins before I hopefully graduate! I should now be back to blogging properly as I have a little bit of time on my hands which will give me something else to think about than my uni work.

So I wanted to do a little review on something that I got my hands on just before Christmas, which is ELF's 100pc Marble Eyeshadow palette.

ELF 100 piece Marble Eyeshadow Palette*

Personally whenever I get hold of ELF products I am usually blown away by the quality of their items considering their prices. I am a huge fan of theirs and love the range of products, normally I am wary of buying products online that I cannot see/test in front of me, however I don't feel like this when buying from ELF. Luckily enough if I have ever had a problem with any of their products their customer service are great and always solve it for me.

I own quite a few of their eyeshadow palettes and couldn't wait to try this monstrous palette out, this 100 piece set has every colour from your everyday neutrals to your bright and vibrant blues and greens - so obviously this is a big plus from me!

Now sometimes you wonder with a big palette like this whether the quality lives up to the quantity and I can honestly say it does. I wasn't sure how pigmented these would be, but I did find some of the shades were highly pigmented, and surpassed my expectations. As you expect some of the lighter shades aren't the best in terms of pigmentation however they still offer a lovely colour especially for highlighting the eyes and great base shades.

I wasn't sure with this palette how many of the shades would actually be used but I can see this being a lot of fun, and is a great way to experiment. This palette offers great diversity for any type of look from everyday neutrals to fun and vibrant night looks. I love the addition of the marble shades within the palette, they look great and apply easily.

In terms of quality and lasting power, once again my estimations were surpassed. I tried these on and can easily last all day without creasing or wearing off. However I did apply a primer before hand but still the proof is in the pudding as I do find with some brands even with primer it doesn't completely help the staying power of eyeshadows and can cause creasing in the lid.

I do really like this palette, and after hearing great reviews about the Coastal Scents I did set my heart on that. However since being sent this palette I have fallen in love with it and can see it being a palette used everyday for uni or days out.

My only problem with this is that I wish it was easier to travel with because I would take it on holiday with me, however that can be expected considering it is a 100 piece palette.

As always ELF have delivered a great product that I love and what's better is that it is currently on offer for £7.50 instead of £15 which can be found here.

Are you a fan of ELF? If so have you tried this? If not what are your favourite items from them?

Lastly, I don't normally like doing stuff like this but for my production project a friend and I are launching a new magazine titled 'Insider' which is about fashion, beauty and entertainment gossip. If you could check out the Facebook and Twitter page that would be fab and maybe give them a like or follow I'd be greatly appreciative. If you do want to get involved as we are interested in getting some of you lovely lot to write for us let me know.
