Mac Archie's Girls Flatter Me Pearlmatte

 Mac Pearlmatte Powder £21.50

I've been such a naughty blogger of late, however if you are or have been a third year student with a dissertation to write you know how stressful that can get.

Anyways, a while ago I got my hands on the Flatter Me Pearlmatte powder from Mac's beautiful Archie's Girls collection. I only started using it a couple of weeks ago but has become one of my favourite blushers of all time!

What makes these products stand out so much is the gorgeous cartoon packaging, it's quirky but really cute. I love the fact that the Pearlmatte products come with a mirror inside the lid which is a big bonus for me, I love any face product with a mirror makes a great travel product. The cuteness doesn't stop there, inside the product is even cuter with the coloured hearts on the powder. Overall the blush is a golden peach with warm coral hearts which combined gives a soft coral shade with a golden frost finish. A perfect look which I will be sporting all summer.

However with this I do find that the coral hearts are hard to pick up when mixing on the pan, so you do mainly end up with the peach finish, but when applied this does look lovely and feels very soft. I think this would look great with a tan as it would emphasise your glow.

Staying powder is actually fab, I've been wearing this whilst on my internship and does a great job of lasting all day. So I would place staying time at between 6-8 hours which I think is great. It doesn't give too much colour to the cheeks but enough for a cute everyday look and because of this it makes it a great shade for everyone no matter the skin tone.

There is one added bonus with the Pearlmatte product and that is it's multi-use purpose, which means that this is not only a blush, but it works also as a highlighter and eyeshadow. However I think if you were to use it as an eyeshadow this would only really work as a base shade as it wouldn't pack much punch.

Despite the simple colour I think this is a staple piece in my collection purely because of it's simplicity. I love a colour that can be used for daytime looks but then be transformed for a night look. This would look fab with a bright lip and really help emphasise those bright pink shades just like the Betty Bright lipstick shade.

Unfortunately these are sold out on the Mac site so would have to check your local counters to see if they have any left.

Have you tried any of the Betty/Veronica products? Really wish I had got some Veronica ones now.

Happy Easter guys!

Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions 3 Step System

Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions 3 Step System

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the lack of updates the past week! However if you are in or have been in your third year of uni you'd understand why, and I have just took on an internship so I am a busy bee of late.

Anywhoo, I wanted to share with you lovelies my newest skincare routine. Now the past few years I have become familiar with Clinique because of my mom preferring it as her skincare of choice. I had been looking through their products when she had asked for a few items to be re-stocked for Christmas, which is then when I found out about their anti-blemish three step system and I knew immediately I wanted to try this out.

So come Christmas I got my hands on this and as you can see in the photos I now own the full sized products of the three products. However I shall talk about the starter kit because I think it is a great way of becoming familiar with the brand if you don't want to fork out on the full sized products.

As titled the set is a three step system consisting of: cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise. Within the set you get a 50ml size of the Clarifying Foam, 100ml Clarifying Lotion and 30ml of Clearing Moisturiser. These are not only fab sample sizes but they are also perfect for travel, I knew after the first couple of uses that I fell in love with these products.

They are slightly expensive but I think they are worth every penny, I use the three combined with their 7 Day Scrub and have noticed an improvement in my skin. I won't lie and say it completely changes your skin overnight because I do still get the odd breakout but I do find that it is helping my skin overtime. Spot and redness wise I find my breakouts aren't as frequent as they used to be, and when they are, they are gone quicker which is perfect. Secondly I have found that my skin is less oily than what it used to be which is a fab positive for me, considering I have suffered with oily skin since I was a young teen.

You begin with the foam on clear skin which is aimed at cleaning any excess dirt and oil from your face, whilst unclogging pores and reducing redness. Once that step is complete you then go onto the lotion which does the same as above while exfoliates the skin and removes dead skin particles. Lastly is the moisturiser which as you guessed helps reduce pores and redness.

The three step system retails at £30 which works out at about £10 per bottle and I think this is a fab kit to try out especially if you do suffer from oily skin. I think overall the lasting effects are fabulous, but it is something you have to give time as it won't work miracles straight away.

I am now a Clinique addict.

Have you tried the brand before, what are your favourite products?

Superdry Beauty

Superdry Nail Paint in Rich Red*, Lip Glaze in Supply Red*, Nail file*

So I will admit I was a little excited to hear that Superdry were releasing their own range of beauty products. I am a fan of their clothes so had high hopes for these products, there is a great range online and you can also choose from gift sets.

I will start with the nail paint, now I never used to be a fan of red nails I just used to think it was an older colour to wear. However recently my opinion has changed and I am more open to wearing red as I think it looks good on whilst my nails are long. I was really impressed when I popped this on my nails, not only did it live up to its name but I was impressed with the shine given once completely dry. No top coat was needed for additional shine! However I did notice that this didn't last the week before the chipping commenced, while I was disappointed it's only the one nail that has chipped so I can live with that.

For £6 I think this is reasonable, the quality of this polish is fab but I would top coat to stop it chipping after a few days wear.

Next up is the Lip Glaze, while it's called Supply Red I wouldn't say it was near this colour as it is quite opaque. However this makes a fab top coat to add shine to your lipstick, or can be worn on its own to give the appearance of healthy looking lips. This is slightly sticky but because of this it's really moisturising and I find it doesn't cling to the dry bits of skin on your lips which is fab.

These have a lovely vanilla scent, which is something I love in lip products. For me it just means that if you taste any of your lip products you know you won't be met with a horrible taste in your mouth. To apply this all you need to do is twist the base until the brush fills with product and then you simply apply to your lips.

The lip glaze retails at £7.50.

Packaging rise it's simple yet personally I felt it was really cute, especially the polishes! The polishes are literally designed just like their clothing which I think would really stand out amongst other beauty products if they were stocked in the likes of Boots or Superdrug. The majority of the packaging consists of bright neon shades which I love and think would be perfect for the summer, especially the makeup bags!

Overall I am really impressed with this range considering Superdry aren't specialists in beauty, but they have released a range which is really great quality. While the pries aren't the cheapest on the market there are some great little gems within the collection.

You can check the rest of the range out here: Superdry Beauty

Have you tried any of the Superdry beauty range out?

BassBuds Headphones

When thinking of headphones your mind will most likely jump to technology and multimedia products, never would you think of headphones being a fashion statement. However BassBuds brings the glamour to your headphones combining both style and sound.

Designed with Swarovski Elements these headphones are guaranteed to leave you looking stylish whilst enjoying your favourite songs. This is the first instance of finding a brand of headphones that are designed with fashion in mind. What intrigued me the most about the company is the wide variety of colour and styles available, you can opt for either their Classics Collection or their 2012 Fashion Collection.

Their Classic range has 10 vibrant colours to choose from to match your style, or you can choose from their 2012 Fashion range which combines colours that unleash your own personal fashion style allowing your headphones to make a statement. I think these would be perfect to wear in the summer, because when the light hits the crystals these look stunning, the shine really gives the impression of jewellery in your ears.

You can customise these headphones further with different coloured buds which are available from the website, so no matter what you are wearing you can accessorise your headphones to match. I am really impressed after looking on the website to see the different options available, you can really make these headphones your own through simple customisation.

As you can see in one of the photos these come with a really cute velvet carry case to minimise the risk of damaging these in your bag. The set also comes with a little guide which explains how to use the controller button for different functions, and a lookbook of the different styles available. It's the simple things like this that I find help these stand out amongst the rest.

Now I will be the first to admit that I am normally put off by in-ear headphones but upon trying these I couldn't believe how comfortable these are! I would actually go as far to say that these are more comfortable than my Apple set that I normally use, I also find the sound quality superior. To get the right fitting in your ears each set comes with three different sized silicone buds in both black and white and memory foam buds for extra comfort.

Secondly a lot of problems people experience with in-ear headphones is that they tend to fall out easily, but these have passed the dropping of the head test by remaining firmly in place. Even when lying down in bed I have noticed these are not uncomfortable when pressure is applied and I could easily leave these in my ear if I am listening to music before bed.

To put these to the test I have gone through my iTunes which ranges from EVERY Glee song to your chart music, and I have found that no matter what song you listen to the quality sound great with these headphones. However to really get the best out of these headphones stick a song with heavy bass on, it will leave you wanting to get up and dance around the room to the beat. I am really impressed with the playback quality of these, and if I am not moving my head most certainly is.

The headphones are also equipped with noise cancelling functions, which block out all sound completely. Literally I had these on whilst writing this review with my mom watching TV next to me and I couldn't hear a word of her programme, even better as this left me in my own little bubble complete with good music. I have also noticed how this works the other way round, if you are listening to your music quite loud people around you cannot hear it, which is music to my moms ears (excuse the pun) as she is always telling me to turn my music down.

These headphones are made with Crystaltronics Sound Technology which is simple terms means that:

"Advances Crystaltronics Sound Technology brings you ultra-distortion free bass and crisp treble. Enter a zone of superior sound quality, High Definition crystal clear Advances Crystaltronics through your BassBuds. You will listen to your favourite songs and experience them like you have never done before!"

Each set come equipped with a microphone which means that you can use these headphones with your smartphone to answer calls, further the integrated high-quality mic means that you don't have to move the mic around to talk to others on the phone.

Personally for me what makes these fabulous is the way the clicker acts as a controller for your music, whether you are listening to it on your phone, smart device or laptop you are given the functionality of pausing, playing and changing tracks. This device is compatible on all smart phones which is a major plus for anyone who is not operating on a iPhone or Blackberry. What's more impressive is that voice control commands are available through these, which means that if you have Siri for example you can speak through the headphones and activate her - pretty impressive!

According to the site the headphones are made from double-wrapped cable to combat splitting wires, and make them sturdier. Secondly these are anti-tangle which is a big positive for me personally, coming from the girl who manages to get any lead she owns tangled. The amount of times I have thought I have broke a pair of headphones due to how tightly they have become tangled, so I am really glad for this feature.

I am really impressed with these headphones, I didn't know it was possible to fall in love with a pair! I feel like these headphones are leaving others standing not only in terms of their cute design but also with the functionality, the fact that the quality is supreme and you can do so much more with these than your standard pair of headphones. Being the pink obsessed girl that I am I must say when placed together with my Mac (in its pink case) looks pretty awesome!

These would make a fab gift for anyone who loves music, I love the black box that these are presented in. I think it completes the overall luxury feel of these, and they will be worn most definitely with style in mind. BassBuds give you a great option of bringing your love of music and fashion together, I am literally sitting here right now planning an outfit around my headphones.

BassBuds start at £34.95 and the company have knocked £10 off, which for me I think is a fab price especially in comparison to a pair of Apple headphones.

The company are currently hosing a competition where they are giving 100 pairs away and tickets to their Celebrity launch party in London which can be found here.

Which BassBuds would fit your style best?

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, £5.29 for 25g

Well I have to admit this is the first Lush product I have ever purchased, purely because when walking past the shop I am put off by the strong smell. However Lush lip scrubs seem to have been doing the rounds in the good ol' blogosphere as a must have product to own within your lip products. In a few posts back I did complain about having dry lips so figured I'd give this a shot.

Now I have been took back by how great this product is, I have only been using this for just over a week but already have seen fab results. Recently my lips have been in really bad condition - thank you cold weather - so they needed a good looking after. I had been looking online at things that said they would help with the dry skin but then I came across this and I thought what could go wrong for the price and it gave me a reason to try Lush.

What I found really interesting about this product is that it is made from caster sugar, not the most typical ingredient that came to mind with this scrub. However made with jojoba oil both work together to create a scrub that is gentle yet moisturising to the lips. Even better because this is made with caster sugar you can simply lick this from your lips once you have finished buffing them - win win of course!

Ok so onto how you apply this scrub, simply you an ample amount on your finger and then gently buff this into your lips and you can sort of gather when you think you have buffed enough because you will just feel it on your lips. I normally spend a bit more time on my bottom lip than the top just because it gets in bad condition, however I have cut down on the amount being used as it has worked fabulously. Once you have finished buffing the fun part comes by licking the product off - or you can go for the boring option of simply wiping it away, once this is done you just whack some balm on to help soften your lips further.

Like I said further up I have only been using this for a short time but the condition of my lips is noticeably better, I found after the first use it had got rid of the dry skin that was gathering and left me with a smooth base to apply lipstick or just balm. Normally I sit and pick at the dry skin with my teeth (bad habit I know) but now when I try and do it there is none for me to bite off.

I know this does come in other flavours such as popcorn but I can see myself sticking with the bubblegum, and with this being a 25g product I know it will last because you only need a small amount.

Have you tried their lip scrub range? What flavour is your favourite?

I've also been playing around with new photo settings on Photoshop so just let me know what you think or if I should go back to my original settings.
