Benefit the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine Powder
Yet another product by Benefit Cosmetics that I could not wait to get my hands on, following the success of the Porefessional Primer, their latest product inspired by the primer comes in the form of a loose powder.
The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine Powder is a lightweight compact loose powder, that is designed to control shine, reduce the appearance of pores and smooth the skin.
I find that the texture feels very similar to that of the original Porefessional, the powder feels velvety to touch and silky once applied on the skin. Because it's such a fine powder it applies effortlessly onto the skin, leaving a natural matte finish. I do find that on it's own without the primer I do need to re-apply during the day, but combined with the primer this lasts all day which is fabulous.
For me Benefit always excel with their packaging of products, just how cool does this look? The packaging acts as an all in one, offering compact powder, dispenser and small kabuki brush. This is perfect for anyone that is on the go, like me as I tend to chuck a few bits of makeup in my bag as a just in case.
To use the Agent Shine Powder you simply take the top cap off, twist the powder cap, simply tap a little in the top cap and then use the brush to sweep the powder onto your face. Underneath the bottom of the tube the brush twists off, providing a retractable kabuki brush to apply the product. Because the brush is retractable it means that it's easy to pop back in place without damaging the bristles of the brush.
However I do have one major gripe with this product and the packaging, and that is that it's quite misleading with the amount of product you actually get. Because the brush is underneath the tube it actually restricts the amount of product you get, I would say only about 3/4 of the tube contains the powder.
Loose powder is usually a product I tend to steer clear of purely because it can be a really tricky product, even more so if you need to pop it in your bag for touch-ups. You normally find yourself covered in dust when opening the lid, and then having to try and tidy the powder that has suddenly decided to cling around the casing - never fun. However what makes this product really stand out is the distinctive way that it's nearly compacted, meaning that you can take this out with you and use easily for touch-ups during the day.
This retails for £23.50 so whilst on the higher price tag for powders, I do think it's worth the money as a little goes a long way, and if you have the primer it makes a kick ass duo. It does when it says on the tin, and really helps keep the shine at bay especially on my t-zone. I just wished that you got slightly more powder for your dollar.
