Brushes are a staple of my makeup routine, each one fulfils a different purpose. I have always been told that the trick for flawless makeup is having the right tools to work with. Over the past couple of years my collection has extensively grown, and I now like to think that I have a great range of brushes which help when applying makeup. I thought I would do something a little different and share with you my favourite makeup brushes, and will apologise for the lack of clean brushes - I haven't got round to washing them yet.

Real Techniques Powder Brush

First up we have the Real Techniques Powder Brush, this brush is perfect for applying powder. I find the shape and size of the brush really easy to work with, and is a breeze for applying powder to my t-zone. The bristles are really soft which means not only is it soft to the touch, but this brush picks up the perfect amount of product giving a light finish to the skin.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

This next brush will come to no surprise for many Real Techniques fans - the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. This would probably top my list of favourite makeup brushes, as it has made applying foundation a breeze. I actually own two of these now, I find that no matter what foundation I'm using it helps to quickly blend into my skin leaving a flawless base.

The only annoying thing about this brush is that it's not available separately, only as part of the Core Collection or Sam's Picks.

Real Techniques Blush Brush

You might discover a bit of trend happening here, with yet another Real Techniques brush. Another favourite of mine is the Real Techniques Blush Brush, I think this is such a versatile brush for powdered products. I love using this to apply blusher, the tapered brush means that it fits well against my cheeks and picks up just enough product for a rosy glow. This works well also for powdering around the t-zone as the tapered end means you can easily apply powder around your nose.

MAC 130

The MAC 130 is a shorter duo fibre brush, which again I find has multiple uses. I love using this for both cream blush and concealer. This is perfect for apply concealer around the nose area as the brush is able to fit easily round the area to blend concealer in. Because the brush is firmer than most duo fibre, this makes a perfect brush for cream blusher, as it gives more control when blending the colour out in comparison to lighter brushes.

Sigma E55 Eye Shading Brush

The Sigma E55 Eye Shading Brush, is one of my go to eyeshadow brushes, I find this the perfect brush to apply base shadow colours to the lid. Because the bristles are shorter and more dense it picks a lot of product up and blends really well. As the bristles are tapered it makes applying eyeshadow round the crease of the lid really easy with little fallout.

Sigma E25 Blending Brush

The Sigma E25 Blending Brush, is another of my favourite eyeshadow brushes. When glancing at this brush it looks like a fluffy brush which would be perfect for blending, however is quite dense when you go to use it. I find it has a perfect balance for applying and blending eyeshadow, it means that I can pick darker shades up with this and then blend them outward with this brush also. Again the tapered end of this means that if fits perfectly into the crease of my lid and with any effort blends the lid to create perfect looks.

Tweezerman for Benefit Retractable Brow Brush

Brows are something I used to not spend a lot of time fussing about, however over the past few months I have become obsessed with grooming my brows. I find that Tweezerman's Retractable Brow Brush for Benefit is perfect for taming my brows before and after filling them. The spoolie helps keep my brows shaped and under control, it may be expensive for what it is but I like how it sets the shape of my brows for the day ahead.

So these are my favourite brushes, but I'd love to know what your favourite makeup brushes are!
