Vera Wang Princess Perfume - £24.90
A little while ago I did a post on beauty club card points, and after saving a fair bob on my Boots Advantage Card, I decided to treat myself to the Vera Wang Princess Perfume Gift Set as it was reduced in the January sale. I had always been intrigued by the fragrance, and have to admit was pretty much sold on the gorgeously shaped bottle.
Princess is described as an enchanting celebration of modern femininity with sheer, fruity and floral notes. The scent itself is the perfect mix of fruity and floral notes, which personally describes the perfect fragrance for myself. The top notes contain waterlily, with heart notes of pink guava which give the perfume a fresh yet delicate scent. The base notes contain chiffon vanilla which I find help give the perfume a stronger scent when sprayed onto the skin.
When first sprayed onto the skin it does come across as a strong scent, however I find that this does die down after about an hour leaving a subtle floral fragrance. Scent wise I find this to be the perfect girly smell, with a young playful vibe if that makes sense. I think this would be the perfect fragrance for both the spring and summer months.
The packaging of Princess is simply divine, and really does represent everything that the fragrance is about. The bottle gives a Disney Princess feel, with everything that is cute, girly and loveable, and being a big fan of Disney this is perfect. I adore the heart bottle shape, and to begin with I did wonder how this would stand up but the shape does flatten at the bottom of the bottle to allow it to stand proudly amongst your other perfumes. The crown lid is absolutely gorgeous, and pulls off to reveal a little golden ring - unfortunately this is a little to young looking for me, but thought wise is genius as I always fall for these gimmicks.
Personally for me this falls under a daytime scent with its gorgeous mix of floral and fruity notes, meaning that it may be a bit too light and fluffy for evening wear. However is every bit a feminine perfume that is sweet without being too sickly.
The gift set comes with a body polish and lotion which are similar smells to the perfume, and leave skin not only feeling fresh but smelling fresh and fruity also.
The set retailed for £24.90 which in the sale was an absolute steal, and as the packaging states get the complete gift set for the price of the perfume which makes an even better deal to be had as the set contains a 30ml bottle of Princess, and 75ml tubes of body polish and lotion. Admittedly this was purchased for the fragrance but I always find the lotions a great accessory to try when mixing up body lotions.
Vera Wang's Princess has quickly become a staple in my perfume collection, and is a firm favourite when it comes to daytime / work scents. I am so glad to have gotten this with my Boots points, and cannot wait to repurchase.
Have you tried Princess before? I'd love to know what you think!
