The Body Shop Rainforest Shine Shampoo and Conditioner - £4.50 each
Now its been no secret that recently I've been suffering from an irritated scalp which has resulted in a sore scalp, severe redness and a flaky scalp. So on my quest to find a shampoo and conditioner that would not irritate my scalp and I ended up trying the Body Shop's Rainforest Shine range after reading some fab reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by this little duo, admittedly I had never tried any of the Body Shop's haircare range before and so didn't know what to expect.
The Body Shop's Rainforest Shine Shampoo is designed to cleanse hair leaving it looking healthy with incredible shine. The shampoo is suited for those with normal to dry hair, however have found that this works perfect fine for my hair which is oily at the roots. What interested me most about this shampoo is that it contains pracaxi oils, cameline seed oils, community trade olive oil, sugar and aloe vera which are all natural ingredients that are great for the hair. I thought it would be interesting to see how my scalp reacted to using a product that was silicone, sulphate, paraben and colourant free as previous shampoos always seemed to contain at least one of these ingredients.
The Body Shop's Rainforest Shine Conditioner is designed to smooth the hair's surface for incredible shine and prolonged radiance. Just like the shampoo this conditioner is suited to those with normal to dry hair, however have yet to encounter any problems as someone with oily roots. The conditioner contains pretty much the same ingredients as the shampoo and again is silicone, paraben and colourant free.
I have been using this duo now for a good few weeks and have found it to be a great combination for my haircare. I have found that certain shampoo and conditioners leave my scalp literally burning after use however these are non irritating on my scalp and don't feel any sensitivity when coming out of the shower. Using these products has helped with my irritated scalp, significantly reducing the flakiness and redness of the scalp.
My hair always feels soft and shiny and after using this, and have noticed that it has reduced how quickly my hair gets oily. Since using these I have noticed a significant difference in the appearance of my hair, I have found it a lot more manageable and a lot less aggravated by certain branded shampoo and conditioners. I have found that even when using heat my hair still seems to be in great condition, and some nights it even feels thicker which is an added bonus.
A 250ml bottle of each will set you back £4.50, so whilst they aren't some of the cheapest hair products available they are some of the most effective. However if you do have a Body Shop card these can be a great way to make savings on products such as these during your Birthday month.
Overall I would recommend the Rainforest Shine collection for anyone who suffers from a sensitive scalp that is prone to redness and flakiness. What's even better is that this duo is better for the environment due to their natural ingredients.
Have you tried this range before? I'd love to know your thoughts.
