Strawberry Buttercream Yankee Candle - £16.99 - Link
The weather may be showing slow signs of warming up, but I can't help lighting a candle to help me relax of a night time. This is actually one of the first Yankee Candle jars I have ever purchased, mainly due to the fact that I tend to buy the sampler sized candles. As a fan of sweeter scents I couldn't resist buying this Yankee Candle to indulge my sweet tooth - calorie free!
Strawberry Buttercream's scent is described as an absolutely luscious treat of plump, sweet strawberries buried in rich whipped cream. This is the perfect scent for the summer, this lightweight sweet smell not only lingers after blowing the candle out, but if you keep the jar open it will lightly scent your room. Because this scent isn't too sweet I find that it really helps lull me into a relaxing sleep mode on a night, which is fab when I'm having a restless night.
Just like other Housewarmer Jar Candles, this candle is presented in the gorgeous glass jars - a trademark design of Yankee Candle. These jars serve as perfect decorative accessories whether you are burning a candle or using it for storage/display ect. Allowing you to decorate your home with fragrance, as Yankee would say! What also makes these jars fab is the tight sealed lid, which helps lock in the fragrance until the candle is used again. My only major bummer with these is that if you are using a normal lighter to light the candles it can sometimes become difficult, so I popped along to the shops to get me some of the longer lighters which makes life a hell of a lot easier.
The medium Yankee jars have around 65 - 90 hours burning time, which is seems to last ages for me as I only tend to burn these a couple of hours every night. These jars retail at £16.99 so whilst they aren't the cheapest candle available I do find they are one of the best and worth every penny. It may be worth having a look in Clintons or on the Yankee site as they often do 25% off deals with their fragrance of the month.
Overall I find that this is the perfect balance between strawberries and cream leaving a delicious scent that is perfect for freshening up the scent of a room. Honestly the smell that it leaves it good enough to eat, and I do have to sometimes remember that this is just a candle not a sweet smelling cupcake that I can pick up and eat. This is probably one of my favourite scents from Yankee Candle!
