Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel £29.50 - Link
I recently featured Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel in my monthly favourites, however felt it needed its own review as I have fallen head over heels in love with this product. My good ol' mom actually recommended this to me as she swears by it as her all time favourite moisturiser, and when I mean that I swear I don't remember a time that I haven't seen her use it - I think she has been using this for years, so I figured it had to be good.
Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel is oil-free and non-comedogenic. It's designed to help replenish lost moisture, leaving skin looking fresh and healthy. According to Clinique this gives your skin lightweight hydration without any oiliness, meaning that your skin not only feels smoother and softer but also more comfortable.
I have been pleasantly surprised by this moisturiser, it feels lovely on the skin once applied and because the formula is oil free it feels really lightweight on the skin. After using this my skin feels velvety smooth - the kind of smooth that leaves me having a good stroke of my face - and this really helps keep the oil at bay. One thing I have noticed when using this, is the increased softness of my skin - not only after applying but even the morning after. Can you call a moisturiser refreshing? Well it's the easiest way to describe this after applying this - which is perfect if you are applying it just before bed, feels like heaven on earth.
This moisturiser glides effortless onto my skin, and because of this I have found that this makes a perfect base for makeup. It doesn't leave my foundation clinging to areas of skin, nor does it look cakey. A win win really, the only downside if you do want to use this as a base for your makeup, is that it doesn't contain SPF so you would either need to apply it separately or use a foundation that contains it.
The Clinique SA actually told me that the gel version is water based which means that this should help keep breakouts at bay. After hearing this I was instantly sold, and whilst it hasn't cleared my skin overnight it is helping slowly. I have noticed my skin isn't breaking out as often, and when it does my blemishes aren't too bad and tend to heal quite quickly.
I purchased the 125ml bottle which comes with a pump, I not only find the pump bottles more hygienic but I find that they are easier to use and minimise waste, as you get an idea of how many pumps you need to cover your face. For me that is between 2-3, so I know that this will last forever - probably until the next time Debenhams do a 10% off. So when you think about how little you need this does work out as a good investment, as there's nothing more I hate than purchasing an expensive product and finding that you use it up so quickly.
Overall I am loving this product, not only is it the perfect product for my oily skin but it is also helping the condition of my skin, leaving it oil free and a lot smoother.
