Rimmel Kate Rockin’ Curves Mascara

Rimmel Kate Rockin' Curves Mascara £7.49 - Link

It's no secret that I am a big fan of the Kate Moss range for Rimmel, so when she extended her impressive collection I couldn't wait to try out the new products. Whilst on the hunt for a budget friendly mascara I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone with the Rimmel Kate Rockin' Curve mascara.

The Rockin' Curves mascara is the first to be created by Kate Moss, and features a broken heart-shaped brush which is designed to twist and curve to hug the lash line whilst reaching those hard to reach inner lashes. The mascara is designed to leave your lashes looking bigger, bolder and gorgeously curled.

When I popped the first coat on I noticed how it visibly coated my lashes to give the impression of longer lashes - which for me is always a good thing! On the second and third coats I noticed that the mascara was curling and lifting my lashes whilst adding volume. After several coats I found the mascara giving the look I craved, which is fuller and longer lashes. On a random note I have to say this is probably one of the blackest mascaras I have owned, and is just as tough as the They're Real mascara to remove.

The wand itself I find to be quite strange, when I opened it I had a serious WTF moment and to be honest it does take a little getting used to due to the shape of the brush as I found myself poking the wand in my eye a few times. With saying that I find that once you get used to it the brush is quite good at applying mascara, meaning that you can reach right into the corner of your eye and applies to the lower lashes easily.

However the problems with this mascara started after application, I find that the formula is quite dry which means that your lashes can sometimes look quite flaky and it's not always the easiest mascara to apply. Within minutes of application I find that this smudges really easily, and I end up looking more like a panda than anything else. So if you do plan on wearing it I'd definitely advise keeping a mirror close by, as I end up rubbing my eyes and my mom will say to me have you seen your face - major oops moment!

Overall this is an ok mascara, it has both positives and negatives, but for me personally the negatives outweigh the positives. For a mascara costing £7.49 I was honestly a little disappointed and my hunt for the perfect drugstore mascara continues - so do let me know what your favourite mascara is!
