Benefit Roller Lash, Benefit Roller Lash Launch Event, #curlsbestfriend

On Wednesday I ventured into Birmingham for the Benefit Roller Lash launch event, being a massive fan of Benefit's They're Real mascara already, I couldn't wait to see what they had in store for their latest release.

Once I arrived at Victoria Square I instantly spotted the huge pink Benefit truck, which looked amazing - who would have thought you could use that to describe a truck?! It gets better, inside the truck I felt as if I were stepping back into a 50's salon. The detail inside the truck was insane, from the 1950's vintage tv sets to the salon equipment decor and roller lash neon light it was a Benefit lovers dream! We were treated to Pink Moet and some scrumptious cupcakes, honestly they know how to make a girl feel welcome!

With each Benebabe dressed to the nines sporting some very cute curly wigs, they spoke to us about the mascara in a lot of detail. It was fab to have a chat with the Benebabes as not only could we learn more about the product but they were on hand for hints and tips in regards to products and application. I was initially shocked to hear that this mascara was in the works way before the infamous 'They Real' mascara, which considering how popular 'They're Real' is, but you know you are onto a winner after they've spent the time to make sure this was right.

I've been trying out this mascara the past couple of days, so keep your eyes peeled for a review coming shortly! Roller Lash will be launched on February 26th, but if you can't wait until then you can pick a sample sized mascara up with Elle magazine's March edition which is out now.

It was lovely to meet some more Brummie bloggers, and had a fabulous time with the Benebabes. Are you looking forward to trying Roller Lash?

Pamper Perfection: Yves Rocher

Yves Rocher, Yves Rocher Skincare, Yves Rocher Review

I don't know about you but since we've left the busy festive season behind I've really been suffering from the January blues, so I have to admit I was in need of a little TLC in the form of a good pamper. The forgetfulness in me always seems to forget about pampering my body with lotions and potions, but that has changed this year, making sure I use lotions and creams daily to give my skin the pampering it needs.

Yves Rocher is a French botanical beauty brand founded in 1959 and ranked as France's number one selling makeup and skincare brand, providing specially-grown botanical beauty products. While I've heard of Yves Rocher, I have to admit that I hadn't actually tried any of their products previously, so naturally I jumped at the chance to give their skin range a shot.

Starting with the Yves Rocher Organic Oats Silky Cream, I have fallen in love with this product. The texture is so soft and creamy, and applies really easily into the skin, drying within a matter of minutes. One of my main gripes with body lotion is trying a formula and having to stand there (think scarecrow poses) waiting for the lotion to dry, but this sinks into the skin really quickly, and leaves me skin feeling silky soft without any greasiness. I really like the scent of this also it's hard to explain but it's very natural, without being too overpowering which is great but still enough power to leave a subtle scent on the skin. I can't help but mention also that I am in love with the jar style packaging, which will make a great recycle once I've finished the lotion. For £13.50 it is slightly pricey (for what I'd pay anyway) but I find that this feels quite luxurious on the skin and definitely worth every penny!

I was most intrigued by the Yves Rocher Anti-fatigue Ice Gel, packed with lavender and peppermint this is designed for your legs and feet. I always end up neglecting my feet, which I know I shouldn't as they suffer a lot of pressure during the day so I knew this was going to be a must have product. Once applied I found the cooling effect really lovely and soothing on my feet, and the texture wasn't too sticky as I did imagine having to swing my feet over my bed for a good 20 mins - not the case. I find this the perfect bedtime treat for my feet and for £5.00 is a life saver.

Next up a winter essential, in the form of Yves Rocher's Long-lasting Moisturising Hand Cream. This has been a lifesaver for me, from the first use I noticed a big improvement leaving my hands a lot softer. When you apply this it doesn't feel sticky nor do you have to wait ages for it to sink into the skin, I love the scent of this it's quite floral and for £3.90 makes the perfect addition for any handbag.

Last but not least the Yves Rocher Fizzy bath cube, now I will say don't be put off by the size of this as I was to begin with in comparison to bigger bath bombs. I couldn't believe how well this fizzed when placed in the bath, creating a milky and bubbly bath. The only negative thing for me would be the scent as I'm not a big fan of coconut scent and just found it a little overpowering for my liking. However if you are a fan of coconut you will love this, as the scent is strong for such a little bath cube and for £1.50 is an absolute steal!

Overall I have fell in love with Yves Rocher and can see why they are so highly rated, for natural products they have really impressed me. These are perfect for a pampering night in, and would recommend giving their site a gander as they have a lot of products on offer. Have you tried Yves Rocher before? What are your favourite products from their range?

Yeah this reflects Cinderella but I just don't think I'll be sure until I see the range in person. Lush The Kiss Lip Scrub £5.50 - Link

It may feel like on two minutes ago I was blogging about the Lush Valentines Day collection, however I couldn't resist blogging about my second favourite release from their collection: The Kiss Lip Scrub. As someone who regularly bites her lips to the points of ripping the skin off I am obsessed with the Lush Lip Scrubs as they gently remove any chapped or dead skin helping to break my naughty habit.

The Lush The Kiss lip scrub is described as a deliciously sweet and perfectly pink scrub, containing caster sugar, sea salt, edible red hearts and hundreds and thousands will polish your pout and keep your lips kissable.

When I first tried this I couldn't put my hand on what the scent and flavour reminded me of, it was only until the other day it hit me - Love Heart sweets! The scrub itself is very sweet making it hard to resist licking it off once applied. I really love that the Kiss Lip Scrub contains little edible hearts and colourful sprinkles, now while they do fall on the gimmicky side I have to admit I do like gimmicks - yes the little things! The sweeter additions prove to be a little messy, but it's very fun to play with when applying and licking off - I'm one of those people.

Using this scrub a couple of times each week has definitely improved the state of my chapped lips, combined with a lip balm I'm on my way to softer lips. I will admit it can be a little sore depending on how badly chapped your lips are, but if you buff gently over your lips you will notice that they are not only flake free but appear healthier.

A lot of people debate that this product is very expensive considering the ingredients used and the scrub costing £5.50, however for me I find that these tubs will last up until their expiry date even with frequent use so for that I think they make a great bargain, and lets be honest I'm too lazy to try and create my own.

Overall as a fan of the Bubblegum Lip Scrub, the Kiss has rivalled and beaten its way to my favourite Lush lip scrub. This is my favourite scent and taste to date, as I am a fan of sweeter scents this is the perfect sugary treat.

Have you tried the Kiss Lip Scrub? If not, what is your favourite lip scrub?

Prada Candy Florale Gift Set

Prada Candy Florale, Prada Candy Florale Perfume, Prada Candy Florale Review, Prada Candy Florale Gift set,
Prada Candy Florale Gift Set - Link

I've been obsessed with Prada Candy Florale since seeing the advert a few months back, and while I had never asked for it over Christmas I was excited to see that it was reduced in the Boots sale over Christmas. Down to £32.99 there was only one gift set left on the shelf and I knew it was going to be mine.

Prada Candy Florale is described as a scent that has evolved from the concept of an imaginary flower created especially for Candy. Candy cannot simply have any flower, her flower must be unique, embodying her many facets: the fragrance's light airiness puts the sparkle in her, followed by tender powdery notes that echo her Spring-like grace. A final whisper of warmth and honey reflects Candy's rich sensuality. Now kudos to you if you can make any sense of that, I tell you I couldn't!

With heart notes of Peony this delicious scent is complimented with top notes of fresh limoncello and base notes of caramel, musk and benzoin, creating a sweet floral scent. When sprayed onto the skin you don't have to worry about an overbearing scent which you have to wait for it to dry, instead you are met with a fragrance that is not only fresh to smell but leaves a light sweet floral scent without being too sickly.

You all probably know that by now that I'm a sucker for anything with pretty packaging, and this fragrance really drew me in thanks to the stunning bottle and cute gift box packaging (you can't see it on my photo but the lid of the box is decorated with white flowers motifs). I adore the gold lettering around the top of the bottle, it really cements its status as a luxurious perfume, and definitely a vanity display perfume! The gift set comes with the matching body lotion which once again smells very light on the skin with floral notes and the packaging is just divine - beats my moms Radox!

This was love from first scent, with a couple of spritz on my wrists and neck I'm set for the day and I find that this baby stays put - you don't have to worry about popping it in your bag for a top up as I can still smell this when I come home on a night.

Overall I am in love with this perfume with everything from the scent to the design of the bottle, and very glad to have picked it up in the sale. For me this is my perfect floral scent as it remains refreshing and uplifting thanks to the Peony notes and can see it becoming my signature Spring/Summer scent.

Have you tried Prada Candy Florale? What's your favourite go to scent at the moment?

Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual

Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual  £20 - Link

A little belated Christmas present but better late than never, the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. The past month I have found myself becoming fixated with beauty related books and who can resist a book from the Queen of beauty herself. With over 25 years of makeup artist experience I thought this would make a really great book to read, and hopefully learn a few new tricks at the same time.

The Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual is packed with all the tricks of the trade including teaching you how to apply your makeup in ten minutes or less whilst offering a unique guide for aspiring makeup artists including how to break into the business, creating a portfolio and how to work with other industry professionals.

This for me is one of those books that once you start you can't put it down, and from the get go I have found myself studying the pages religiously learning about how to apply makeup to finding the perfect shades suited to my skintone. I know this day in age it's pretty easy to do a quick Google search for these tips online, but for me personally there is something about not only reading about it in book form but learning these tips from someone as well respected in the industry as Bobbi Brown makes me think I'm onto a winner as a holy grail beauty book.

I like how this book is separated into beauty advice and tips to then a guide for aspiring makeup artists, which you may think well I'm not bothered about becoming a makeup artist - don't write it off, the second half of the book proved to be a pretty good read. Not only does this book focus on makeup but subjects are separated by chapters, including skincare and which food and drink you should avoid or indulge to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy. The book is teamed with glossy photos spreading from page to page, without the feeling that they have just been placed as filler. When flicking through the book I found a lot of the editorial pictures to be quite inspiring because you will find yourself wanting to be more creative with your look.

Some of my favourite sections of the book had to include the first chapter on equipment, which you will notice Bobbi showcases her range of brushes - however this section contains some really great tips on shopping for brushes, which bristles work best for which job, and the tools you need in your stash - on a side note she does refer to applying makeup with fingers so don't think it's a full blown advertisement. I really enjoyed reading the ten step guide to perfect makeup, what I like about this is how it contains a handful of steps which help achieve a polished look that is perfect for everyday wear.

Overall this makes the perfect book for any makeup newbie to professional, including basic knowledge to more specific artistry. Whilst watching a video for tutorials can be quite informative I think with the aid of step by step pictures this could be a welcome addition to any dressing table, for those wanting to learn new makeup skills.

What is your favourite beauty book?

Lush Valentines Day Collection: Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar

Lush Unicorn Horn, Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar, Lush Unicorn Horn Review , Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar Review, Lush Unicorn Horn Valentines Collection, Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar Valentines Collection
Lush Unicorn Horn £3.25 - Link

Now I'm going to let you in on a little secret I am a Lush bath virgin, yes I know I'm a bad blogger however I've just never been a bath kind of girl I'm a fan of quick and out showers. Saying that a few of you may know that I've been quite ill the past week and a bit and the only thing I want when I'm ill apart from my bed is a nice soak in the bath, and couldn't resist giving the Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar a go!

The Unicorn Horn is described as a magical bath filled with beautiful neroli and lavender essential oils which is great for relaxation and de-stressing your body, colourful candy stars, sparkling lustre, rainbows and dreams. From first impressions you cannot deny how pretty this looks, from the mixture of colours to dainty little stars. There is just something about it being a unicorn horn that makes this magical and cute. The scent of this bar is quite strong from the offset as you can smell the lavender seeping through the lush bag, which for me isn't necessarily a bad thing as I love the scent.

Not knowing what to expect, I started to crumble the bubble bar under the tap and this was fairly easy to do, you just have to be careful as I found myself scooping a few of the bigger bits out the water.  But I did notice that some of the smaller crumbs did dissolve in the water itself leaving a lovely lilac coloured glittery water, which you can kind of see on one of my photos (darn you bathroom light), I do imagine though if you used half of this it wouldn't give the same effect as this was quite light and could end up looking a little dirty. I found that originally it wasn't foaming too much just with the aid of running water, so popped the jets on and found this really helped to foam the bar and my gosh I found the bubbles to be so soft, you could even smell the lavender in the water which was lovely. After the bath my skin felt softer and smelling gorgeous.

Overall I found that once this had dissolved and foamed the unicorn horn helped to create a relaxing bath, that is perfect for when you are feeling under the weather or need to relax after a long day. I definitely want to stock up on a few more of these and a couple of the other Valentine's offerings.

Disney Frozen Lip Smackers

Frozen Lip Smacker, Frozen Lip Balm, Frozen Lip Balm Tin, Frozen Lip Tin, Frozen Elsa Lip Balm, Frozen Anna Lip Balm, Frozen Elsa & Anna Lip Balm
Frozen Lip Smackers £10 - Link

If you follow me on Instagram you may know that I'm a little obsessed with anything Disney related, and even more so Frozen related - what can I say I will never outgrow Disney. So when my mom surprised me over Christmas with the Frozen Lip Smacker tin,  I was a little gobsmacked (excuse the pun) and couldn't wait to get my balm on!

Packed in a cute keepsake tin this set contains six special edition lip smacker balms, wrapped with our Frozen favourites. Each complete with a different sent including: Elsa - cool vanilla mint, Elsa and Anna - chilled cranberry grape, Anna - strawberry shake (delicious), Kristoff - ice pop, Sven - berry slush and Olaf - coconut snowballs. Each smell as delicious as they sound, without being too sickly sweet and taste divine once applied on the lip, which does become quite addictive as you end up licking it off your lips - or is that just me?

I didn't really know what to expect as I had never tried Lip Smacker products before, and thought these might mimic those childish cheaper lip balms - however I was pleasantly surprised! When I was having a little mooch online I found that Lip Smacker is the brand behind all the novelty inspired balms from their Disney to fizzy pop inspired ranges, so instantly I was intrigued to try these out.

Once applied these appear sheer on the lips, which I find to be a good thing as I'm sure you've looked at Sven's lip balm thinking that blue would never look good on anyones lips. These apply really easily and smoothly onto the lips instantly helping lips to feel soft without feely too greasy or sticky. I do find however that these aren't the most hydrating, so make a option for daily wear or as a primer before applying lipstick.

These lip smackers are really affordable too, with individuals balms retailing at £2.50 and the tin £10.00 which I find great value when you are getting 6 lip balms in a tin.

Overall I love these lip balms, not only do they look cute but they are great to pop into your bag during the colder months when your lips are in dire need of balm. And let's be honest when I have Olaf and Anna on my keys these balms complete my fun Frozen inspired bag accessories. I think these novelty balms are lovely for injecting a bit of fun into your balm routine.

Have you tried Lip Smackers before? What's your favourite flavour?

Splurge or Save: 90's Lip

Mac Velvet Teddy, Mac Velvet Teddy Comparison, Mac Velvet Teddy Dupe, Rimmel Lasting Finish 08
Mac Velvet Teddy, Mac Velvet Teddy Comparison, Mac Velvet Teddy Dupe, Rimmel Lasting Finish 08
LtoR: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss 08, Mac Velvet Teddy

I've dug an oldie out for you folks today, back when I first started my blog I used to like doing a little something called splurge or save and I found these photos lurking from a couple of weeks ago not knowing what to do with them, and here's the perfect opportunity!

Lately there has been a lot of hype surrounding Kylie Jenner's lips and the 90's lip craze, with these sought after nudes being on the top of everyones wish lists I thought I'd share with you my splurge or save 90's lip edition. Now we all know Kylie's coveted lip shade is said to be Velvet Teddy, but not everyone has or wants to spend £15+ on a lipstick, so I was happy to discover when rummaging through my makeup collection that I had a cheaper alternative waiting to be re-discovered. Now I have to admit I am rather a big fan of a darker / brown nude and can see the reason behind the hype, not only do they look great on but are perfect for adding definition to the lips giving them a fuller look.

Mac Velvet Teddy (£15.50) has become quite the cult product to own, and is described as a deep-toned beige matte lipstick. For me personally I find that this light beige shade perfectly mimics the shade of my own lips, and leaves them looking fuller. For a matte this is not drying at all and is rather smooth to apply, nor does this doesn't cling to dry patches on your lips. For a nude this lipstick provided amazing pigmentation and colour to the lips and I find that I can get a good 3-4 hours wear from this lipstick.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 08 (£5.49) is one of those unsung heroes that has been forgotten about, and for all the wrong reasons (my bad). I've heard a lot of people say how they find 03 a close dupe for Velvet Teddy, however when I've compared both on the lips I do find that 03 whilst it looks most similar in the bullet is a lot more sheer. While this isn't a matte shade you can give it that matte effect by popping a liner on and then a sprinkle of translucent powder on top to help give it that Kylie Jenner inspired look giving me around 2-3 hours wear.

In comparison I find that Velvet Teddy is more on the beige side whereas 08 has dusky rose undertones, however when applied on the lip with Mac Whirl the two do give off a very similar 90's mauve look. When you look at both shades they do seem like they'd work with many skintones and the wear time is very similar between the both. With both lipsticks you can overdraw the lips if you wish, defining your lower lip and cupids bow. Both are really flattering shades to wear and are staple shades in my makeup collection!

At a fraction of the price I'd definitely recommend Rimmel's Lasting Finish lipstick, however there is just something about Velvet Teddy that means I'd splurge! Let me know if you'd splurge or save!

Coloristiq Review

Coloristiq, Coloristiq Review, Coloristiq Review Blog
Coloristiq, Coloristiq Review, Coloristiq Review Blog

It seems like the market is very inundated with beauty boxes at the moment, but today I wanted to share with you something a little different, a subscription box that allows you to rent nail varnish - yes you heard me right!

Coloristiq offers a multi-brand, online nail polish rental service. Providing its members with access to a wide range of salon quality brands including: China Glaze, Essie, OPI and Morgan Taylor, delivered monthly to your door. When you subscribe you will receive three bottles of polish to enjoy for 30 days for £14.49. Each bottle is limited to nine paintings (two coats each) which equals three per bottle during the rental month, and this is checked once you send your box back.

If you are like me when it comes to nail polish and have drawer upon drawer of different shades, brands and sets, some of which are semi-used or have never been opened, cluttering up your bedroom Coloristiq could be a great alternative!

I will admit one of the first questions that came to mind with this was - is this hygienic? Now there is the possibility that the polishes you choose may have been used before, however the Coloristiq team inspect each bottle to ensure that they are still useable as well as sanitising each bottle. The chemicals apparently found in nail polish also kill all bacteria inside the bottle so there is nothing to worry about on that front, and sharing polish is just like popping to your local nail salon.

I love the idea of Coloristiq as you can scroll through their website, and create a wishlist of colours you want to try, allowing them to send you three for the month to try out and send back at the end of the 30 days to receive another three.

In my box I received China Glaze 'Midtown Magic', 'I'd Melt For You' and 'Tip Your Hat', now I will be a little honest and say I was disappointed as I am a big fan of pastels and pinks but I have swatched the colours and really like, so it has offered the chance to try something new, especially Midtown Magic.

If you are used to drugstore branded nail varnish then £14.49 may seem a bit steep, but if you are a fan of salon brands this is a really great idea, as you know that if you do choose a shade that based on photos looks amazing but when you try it at home and see that it needs a million coats and hours to dry, or chips quite easily you know that you haven't wasted money on a bottle and can instead return it for a better shade. Or on the other hand if you come across a shade that you have tried and have fallen in love with you can then hit the shops with a wish list of polish.

Overall I think this is a fab concept as I personally find myself mixing my nail look up so frequently I'm always on the hunt for new polishes as I can't go for something similar for a good few weeks. If you are interested in this box the lovely folks over at Coloristiq are offering you lovely lot the chance to review the first box for free using the promo code: Charlee1.

What are your thoughts on Coloristiq?

2014 Beauty Favourites

Better late than never I thought I'd share with you all some of my favourite products from 2014, and I do promise that this will be the last 2014/2015 related posts. For me I found that 2014 was all about discovering new products and escaping my comfort zone when it came to makeup, this meant using bronzer more regularly and opting for a red lip - both of which are looks I never thought I'd have the confidence to wear.

First of all we have the infamous Nars Laguna bronzer, which has quickly become a staple within my makeup routine. For me this is the perfect bronzer as my face never looks orange, instead it leaves a gorgeous bronzed and healthy glow, which for us paler girls is perfect! Whilst on the pricer side I find that a little goes a long way and blows all my other bronzers out the water, making the perfect bronzer for a hint of glow and warmth whilst helping to define my round cheeks.

L'oreal Miss Manga received a lot of criticism from myself when I first reviewed it, however after re-disovering it in my vanity draw (kind of glad I never threw it away) I have fallen in love with the mascara. I find it very similar to Benefit's They're Real however for a fraction of the price, and once I mastered how to use the brush it provides a lovely curl to the lashes whilst adding the volume and length I craved from a drugstore mascara, making it the drugstore mascara I had been looking for!

2014 was all about MAC Velvet Teddy, thanks to Kylie Jenner and her statement lip. After hearing many recommendations that this was her shade of choice I popped this on my wishlist to see what all the fuss was about. I will admit it was love from first swatch, and has quickly become a firm favourite of mine when recreating a 90s lip. This perfect matte provides great pigmentation whilst bringing focus to the lip. To create those fuller Kylie Jenner lips, this is really easy to do so with as you can exaggerate your natural lip shape with ease.

Another 2014 favourite thanks to Kylie Jenner, MAC Whirl Lip Liner is the perfect base for Velvet Teddy and for creating overdrawn lips. Before this I had never really seen the point in lip liners, however this swiftly changed that. Whirl is the perfect rosy nude which helps to overdraw the lips whilst stopping your lipstick from running and help the longevity of your chosen lipstick. I can see a repurchase coming soon, and this has quickly become my favourite lip liner to date.

2014 has been the year where I discovered the importance of brows thanks to Benefit Brow Zings, before this I would kind of pluck here and there and then use a pencil. However thanks to frequent brow waxes I have become more obsessed with my brows and their shape. I find that Brow Zings provides the perfect statement brow, the powder and wax combination helps to create a really natural looking brow whilst adding that much needed colour. Whilst this is a little pricey it is my go to brow product, as it provides everything you need in a handy compact.

Nars Sheer Glow is a firm blogger favourite and a holy grail for many, so with such high expectations I couldn't wait to give this a shot. After trying this foundation out I can easily admit that it does live up to said expectations, providing a medium base that doesn't look too heavy on the skin whilst covering imperfections and redness. This foundation provides a healthy glow once applied and will last all day, however the only thing I will say is that this foundation is not sheer despite its name.

If you haven't heard of Zoeva in 2014, I will honestly question if you have been living under a rock. One of my favourite discoveries has been Zoeva alongside their rose gold plated brushes, their Zoeva 102 Silk Finish Brush has rivalled many of my favourite kabuki style foundation brushes. Whilst this can sit gorgeously on my vanity, it sure packs a punch when it comes to foundation application, and helps to blend and buff my foundation seamlessly in a matter of minutes, and I'm truly looking forward to their 2015 releases.

I will admit I jumped on the bandwagon a little bit when it came to Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks after hearing so many positive reviews. By gosh I'm glad that I did, as the past year Bourjois have really killed it with their releases, prompting the realisation that they could really rival luxury brands. Their Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks inject gorgeous colours onto your lips but also provide fabulous lasting powder, staying put after various meals and drinks, these lipsticks pack a punch and therefore the reason for making my 2014 favourites.

I'd love to know what your 2014 beauty favourites are?

2014: Favourite Blogs

In my 2015 blogging resolutions post I spoke about how last year I was more of a lurker than a talker when it came to reading blogs. Despite this I love reading blogs, and can spend endless amounts of hours scrolling through my BlogLovin' feed and reading new posts. So this year I wanted to share the love and showcase a few of my favourite blogs that I have come across this past year.

Beth's blog from the outset is simply beautiful from her layout to photographs. I always have major phot envy when I see a new post from her, and loved reading her MAC lipstick collection. One thing that really drew me to Beth's blog was how honest she is, especially with lifestyle posts which always make a good and heartfelt read.

Adrienne's blog is actually one of the first that I came across when I got into blogging, and has been a favourite for a while. Her posts always make a good read and I'm constantly checking her site for her daily beauty reports which covers the latest releases and beauty news. Her reviews are always very detailed and honest, and I must admit she has been quite the enabler for a few cheeky purchases.

I actually came across Claudia's blog a little while back when she was having some issues with her site. However since then I have fallen in love with her blog, from everything to her writing style to heavenly blog design to her beautiful photographs. I like that her product reviews are quite photo lead which is always a winner for me.

Amy is one of the nicest people I have met online and her blog is simply stunning. Combined with her beautiful photography her posts are always so informative and make really good reads. One thing I love about Amy's blog is that she features a range of products and really does cover everything, which is why I always find myself coming back for more.

Last but not least is the lovely Megan, I have been a big fan of her blog this year. Filled with beautiful photos and fabulously written posts including cute outfits and great reviews. Megan has also started her own YouTube channel which I love to watch, and really hope that she uploads some more videos this year.

These are just a few of my favourite reads, I'd love to know who your favourite bloggers are!

My 2015 Blog Resolutions

Blogging Resolutions, Blogging Resolutions 2015

First of all I'd like to wish you lovely lot a happy 2015! I assume many of you already have your news years resolutions, and hopefully are sticking to them. However I wanted to do something a bit different, as someone who doesn't really make resolutions I thought I'd like to do some blogging related resolutions which hopefully I'll stick to in the year ahead!

Become more organised

Firstly I'd like to become more organised with my blog and content, hence the reason for a couple of new notebooks to help create a routine. Even though I take my bulk photos on a weekend I have purchased a notebook not only for when inspiration strikes but to keep on top of my blog posts and in the hope of adding some much needed organisation to my blog. This means gone will be the days where I spend 5 minutes before setting my photography space up thinking what to blog, instead I want to have ideas already in the place that I can get excited to photograph.

Be happy with a blog layout

This is something that I have been working on over the past few days, and that is being happy with a blog layout and sticking to it. Ever so often I'm guilty of tweaking html until I'm happy and sometimes I can be my own worse enemy spending hours on the smallest of tweaks. However I've had a 2015 overhaul, and can honestly say I'm really happy with the layout/theme that I have created.

Dedicate more time to reading blogs

An important one for me, as 2014 say my blog viewing dwindle a lot due to a busy personal life. However I want to get back into reading old favourites and discovering new blogs, one thing I want to try which I have seen floating over social media, is commenting on each blog post I read. Sometimes I find myself being more of a lurker than a talker, so this is definitely something I want to change.

Explore YouTube

Something I wanted to do in 2014 but I found my confidence lagging. However this year I want to explore YouTube more and upload videos, I will find the time to do so and hopefully through the process become more confident filming myself. As someone who is so bubbly in real life people find it strange that I feel a little shy in front of the camera, so let's try and tackle that in 2015!

Share the blogger love

One thing that always makes me happy is when I see other bloggers share/re-tweet my blog posts, links etc so I want to do the same and share the blogger love. I plan on posting about my favourite bloggers of 2014, but I want to follow this through the year on both my blog and social platforms, contributing to #FF's, re-tweeting blog posts that I like and sharing with you some of my favourite bloggers - as let's be honest there's nothing more fun than discovering a new favourite blog!

Attend more blogger meet ups

2014 saw me attend my first blogger meet up, different to blog events however a lot of fun. I really enjoyed meeting fellow bloggers and is something I'd love to try more in 2015, maybe even venturing around the country to not only travel but meet you lovely lot! Baby steps first though and I will carry out scoping out local blogger events - so if you know any in the West Mids hit me up!

So there we have it, my blogging resolutions. I'd love to know if you have any and what are they?

Sali Hughes - Pretty Honest

Pretty Honest, Sali Hughes, Sali Hughes Pretty Honest, Sali Hughes Pretty Honest Review, Sali Hughes Pretty Honest Blog
Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes £22 - Link

The blogosphere has been in overdrive since the release of Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes, and I have to say I have been intrigued after reading various reviews and seeing it pop up over many blogs. So with Christmas looming I decided it was the perfect time for a new read.

If you have not heard of Sali Hughes before (where have you been?!), she is beauty editor at the Guardian alongside contributing editor of Red Magazine and owner of her amazing blog Pretty Honest is described as a witty, wise and truthful beauty handbook for real women on what works in real life from Sali Hughes. With over 20 years experience, she shares her advice and expertise to help show women how to make the most of makeup's physically and emotionally transformative.

The book is separated into chapters focusing on specific areas, jam packed with many tips and tricks which come in very handy. As you go along with any beauty questions you may have, this book will answer these in the coming chapters - so get ready to drink in the tips offered. Some of the chapters you may find that you don't need to read and just flick through, such as Botox and mature beauty but may always come in handy for future reference. Some of my favourite chapters include salon etiquette, dealing with counter staff and learning about your skin type along with skincare routines.

Overall I found this book to be a brilliant read and was hooked from the first few lines, whether you consider yourself a beauty pro or a newbie wanting to learn more - this book will really teach you a thing or two in a way that is friendly and to the point whilst cutting the bs out. I couldn't put this down once I had started and is honestly a must-have for any beauty junkie.
