Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Soft Brown £15.00 - Link
Statement brows seem to be the in thing at the moment thanks to a certain Miss Cara Delevingne, brows have quickly become a trademark that we all want groomed and plucked to perfection. This is where Anastasia Beverly Hills comes into play, the brand has become very well known for their cult brow products and I have to admit I needed to jump on the bandwagon to see if they lived up to the hype.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade is described as a waterproof brow colour which sculpts and defines the brows. Complete with a smudge free, creamy formula which glides effortlessly onto the skin and brow hairs of optimal definition.
The dipbrow pomade is available in 11 shades so when it comes to picking a shade online it can be quite difficult. After much deliberation and talking to a few of you lovelies on Twitter I ending up going for Soft Brown, as I was worried that blonde would be just too light and medium brown too dark. Soft brown is designed for those with dark blonde to light brown hair, so I figured this would be the right shade. Since ombre'ing my hair and going darker on the roots I found myself preferring darker more striking brows and this shade matched the bill perfectly - I would definitely recommend doing your research before buying as it's not the thing you can go and swatch in store if you live in the UK unfortunately.
This can take some getting used to and results in a lot of trial and error to begin with. I have realised a little goes a long way, as even the smallest amount is really pigmented and can be easy to go a little overboard if you are heavy handed. I barely dented my pot to show you guys the swatch above which means that this will last a long while proving to be a great bargain for £15! Formula wise the dipbrow has a lovely creamy consistency meaning that it applies like a dream, and is very easy to control once applying. If you do find yourself overdoing this you can easily brush out any excess product with a brow comb leaving a more natural finish.
I like to apply this outlining my brows firstly and then filling in any sparse areas with small strokes for a natural brow, I don't know about any of you but I find this thickens my brows altogether as naturally they are quite thin (I'm working on thickening them) but not to the point where they are OTT. This is perfect for day or night depending if you are looking for an everyday or defined brow it's just a case of outlining your brows. I like to apply this using my Benefit Brow Brush and this works perfectly, I did debate purchasing the Anastasia brow brush but seeing as I already own about 4 brow brushes and a spoolie I thought I'd be frugal and shop my makeup stash.
I find that throughout the day when using a brow pencil I have the tendency to rub my brows away and combined with oily skin, pencils are not always my best friend. This is where Dipbrow Pomade is perfect for those with an oilier complexion, as this will stay in place all day and I'm even talking about when you have a shower, not a smudge in sight! However saying that this does come off easily with a cleanser or makeup remover, so don't worry about having to scrub your brows off to remove the stuff.
Overall I am a Dipbrow Pomade convert, the wax consistency means that once applied your brows instantly look fuller and thicker even with the smallest amount. I've noticed when wearing this how much better my brows look, even to the point of healthy thicker looking lashes - that coming from the girl who has barely any towards the end.
Have you tried the dipbrow pomade, I'd love to know what you think!
