Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish £20.75 - Link
As an avid bandwagon jumper I had never really seen the hype surrounding the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish hot cloth cleanser, admittedly down to my own naivety. So this year I wanted to invest in a proper skincare routine and that meant re-evaluating my current products and investing where need be. The Cleanse and Polish is regarded as such a holy grail product within the beauty and blogging world that I knew this was the cleanser I needed to snap up.
Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish is designed to remove daily grime and makeup to leave skin feeling clean, soft and looking radiant. The cleanser uses a two step process for gentle cleansing, starting with massaging one to two pumps onto dry skin cleansing the face while the second process involves using the muslin cloth to polish off the cream, gently dislodging dead skin cells and revealing soft, clean and radiant skin.
When I first started using this I felt that the cleanser was a little thick - this was with not knowing what to expect - but this means that you can really massage the cleanser into your skin, which helps to encourage your natural skins glow leaving healthier looking skin. Once massaged into the skin just simply remove the cleanser with a wet muslin cloth which polishes the skin whilst removing the cleanser.
Since its first use back in January I have noticed such a difference in my skin, it's hard to know how well skincare works until you've been using it for a while. But saying that I did actually notice an improvement following the first use, my skin was not only smoother but it felt and looked healthier which has continued with daily use. I have noticed since using this that my skin as a whole has improved significantly, as someone who suffers a lot from spots this has really stopped breakouts from being as frequent, and my mom has actually commented on how healthier and fresher it looks - win! I have noticed that when I do suffer from those stubborn hormonal breakouts they heal quicker then they would have previously. Normally I do tend to suffer from diet induced spots but I have noticed this has reduced significantly, I know I can snack on a choccie or drink a glass of wine and my skin not tell on me, making this a holy grail cleanser - yes I went there!
When I began looking into the ingredients used I was shocked to see that they are all naturally active ingredients. Including beeswax which contains skin protecting properties and helps to relive chapped skin, Eucalyptus Essential Oil which contains decongestant properties, Glycerin which draws atmospheric water to the skin to aid hydration, Hops Extract to help tone the skin, D-panthenol to help stimulate cellular renewal, Cocoa Butter for its moisturising effects on the skin, Rosemary Essential Oil for its antioxidant properties and lastly Chamomile Essential Oil to help sooth the skin. I don't know about you but so many products!
Overall the Cleanse and Polish has significantly helped improve the condition of my skin and this has only been by using it every night, not the twice daily routine suggested. I would really recommend this product as it is not only gentle on the skin but perfect for any skin type and age.
