My Skincare Routine

Over the years my skincare routine has changed dramatically, gone are the days of daily makeup wipes and over the past few months I've settled into a skincare routine that seems to be working for me, helping keep my combination skin at bay. I know some people tend to have a morning and evening skincare routine, however for me I like to keep things simple and just change my moisturiser on a night.

To start I wash my face with the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, this cleanser is one of my newest additions to my skincare routine, but has quickly become one of my favourite products. With the aid of the Liz Earle Muslin Cloth this really helps clean my skin and remove any traces of makeup. This leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, and I like that it's perfect for sensitive skin. I tend to swap my Muslin cloths every couple of days to stop spreading makeup germs from the previous day - ew!

After cleansing I use the Benefit They're Real eye makeup remover just incase I haven't removed all traces of my eye makeup - an added step that isn't always necessary but like to if I've worn my Benefit They're Real Mascara - after all who likes to wake up the next morning with panda eyes.

Once I've removed all traces of eye makeup I like to apply the Pixi Glow Tonic, which is a toner with a few additional benefits. This toner acts as a gentle exfoliator, removing dead skin cells to reveal brighter looking skin. I like to use a cotton pad and sweep this across my face, and being prone to oily/combination skin this really helps to keep the shine at bay and has helped improve breakouts.

After this I apply my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel as my daytime moisturiser, I really love applying this in the morning as the formula is lighter than my night moisturiser. This helps to replenish lost moisture and gives hydration without any oiliness making the perfect base for my primer.

For my evening moisturiser I opt for the Lancome Hydra Zen Anti-Stress moisturiser as this is slightly thicker in texture. A little expensive but this works really well on my skin whenever it is in need of a little TLC, and works wonders over nights helping to soothe any redness or reduce the appearance of blemishes.

While waiting for my moisturiser to sink in I like to apply Lush's The Kiss lip scrub to get my lips on top form. I know I keep hammering on about how the winter wreaks havoc on my lips but it really does, and this has made my daily routine. By scrubbing my lips gently with this it helps remove any dead/chapped skin leaving lips feeling smooth and soft. I do then apply lip balm but this changes every so often I didn't think it was worth photographing.

Once my moisturiser has absorbed into my skin, I apply Clinique's Pore Refining Correcting Serum around my t-zone and chin area. I have noticed that I have to use this twice a day to see any results and does help give the appearance of smaller pores, and helps give a smoother base for foundation application with the aid of Porfessional, meaning that my foundation doesn't cake or surround my pores.

There we have it folks, my current skincare routine. What products do you use for your daily skincare routine?
