Yves Rocher Makeup
LtoR: Sumptuous Colour Eye Shadow Quad, Volume Vertige Mascara, Intense Kajal 100% and Fixing Eyelid Primer*
It seems as of late I can't get enough of Yves Rocher, after swiftly falling in love with their skincare range I couldn't wait to see their offerings in the beauty department. As France's number 1 selling makeup and skincare brand I jumped at the chance to try out a selection of their gorgeous eye makeup.
It may come as to no surprise that I'm a big fan of eyeshadow palettes and I instantly fell in love with the Sumptuous Colour Eyeshadow Quad in Brilliant Green (£12.50)*. Yves Rocher are reinventing the smokey eye with their new quad eyeshadow palette with four effects for endless customised makeup options. Now I will admit while I don't necessarily opt for green eyeshadows I have really loved experimenting with the shades - and who knew green eyeshadows work out really well for those with blue eyes. The shades are extremely pigmented and the texture is so soft and buttery meaning that they apply really smoothly and easily. The packaging is gorgeous also - I love the gold casing as it gives it that luxury feel and could really rival higher end brands! The palette is also very versatile in the sense that the eyeshadows can be applied wet or dry, and when wet the pigmentation is intensified making a great choice for a statement smokey eye.
I've heard many good things about Yves Rocher mascaras in the past, so when I received the Volume Vertige Mascara (£11.50)* I couldn't wait to apply this to my lashes. The unique combination of the Reservoir Brush - which releases the perfect amount of mascara to maximise volume - and fixing botanic extract leaves your lashes looking sensational. I have to admit I haven't been disappointed with that mascara as of yet, and truly lives up to their rave reviews - the brush itself is quite unique and the shape allows you to disperse product evenly and prevents the formula from clumping. I like that no matter how many layers you apply of this the lashes still look separated and never clumpy, and does a great job of keeping my lashes curled throughout the day.
I haven't tried Kajal eyeliners in a few years I think the last one I had was the Sleek one so I was interested to say the least to try out their Intense Kajal 100% eyeliner (£9.95). This creamy and intensely pigmented Kajal creates a captivating look that unveils the key to your powers of seduction. Firstly I have to comment on how pigmented this eyeliner is, and definitely lives up to its intense name, formula wise this is really creamy which means that you can create a defined black line easily, without any dragging or a smudged line to complete a smokey eye. If you are new to eyeliner this wouldn't be the product for you as it can sometimes leave a thicker line in comparison to liquid eyeliner. My only gripe with these kind of products is that they become a bit difficult to work with when you lose the sharpness of the initial shape, other than that this eyeliner is a definite hit!
I am a big fan of eyeshadow primers, so was really excited to try out their Fixing Eyelid Primer (£7.50). Enriched with Camellia oil, this eyelid primer soothes and fills wrinkles and fine lines whilst keeping your eyeshadow in place and leaving colour more radiant for longer. I love that this tube is so small as it is perfect for throwing in your makeup bag and travelling, and is so easy to apply on the lids - I literally dab a small bit on my fingers and blend it's as simple as that. The primer has a nude tint to it and I find that this helps neutralise your lids prior to applying eyeshadow which is great if you do have red tones to your eyelid. I've noticed that since using this it has stopped my eyeshadow creasing throughout the day which is a big plus as there's nothing worse than looking in a mirror and seeing that your lid is practically empty but the crease is full of colour.
Overall another winner from Yves Rocher, not only is their skincare great but I've found some real gems from their makeup range. I love that everything is so reasonably priced and the quality definitely could rival that of higher end brands.
