Yves Rocher Sérum Végétal Plumping Day Care and Night Cream £29 - Link
Yves Rocher are a brand that I've only recently been introduced to this year, however have instantly come to love and couldn't wait to try their skincare out. Now I'm a firm believer in prevention is better than trying to repair something later down the line, and even at the grand ol' age of 23 I don't believe there is anything wrong with adding anti-ageing products into my skincare routine to try and help delay the effects of anti-aging.
The latest release from Yves Rocher comes in the form of their Sérum Végétal range, containing mesembryanthemum crystallinum (yes definitely a mouthful), also known as crystalline ice or life plant, which stimulates the skins protein which reactivates the cellular mechanisms that fight wrinkles - you can learn more about it here.
The Yves Rocher Sérum Végétal Plumping Day Care Cream is not only a mouth full, but designed to rebuild skin to regain plumpness with its plumping texture to moisturise the skin all day long and is an excellent base for makeup. I found that the day cream is so light and creamy and applies like a dream in the morning, it never feels heavy on the skin and despite the lighter formula doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy in the slightest. On a morning this gives the appearance of healthier more awake skin, I've found that this also makes a great moisturiser to apply before makeup as this provides a smoother and firmer base allowing my foundation to glide on.
The Yves Rocher Sérum Végétal Plumping Night Care Cream is designed to restore firmness to the skin. Its satisfying balm texture intensely nourishes the skin and is used each night over the whole face. The main difference between this and the night cream is that the night care cream is slightly thicker in consistency and more balm like, so may not be a good choice for those who stay away from heavier formulas. However saying that I still find that this sinks in quite quickly, without leaving your face feeling greasy. This is the biggest winner out the two for me, as I normally find a restless night leaves my skin looking dull, however by applying a layer of this on the night before I wake up with more forgiving skin that looks well rested and healthy.
Now I have been sharing both of these with my mom so that she could comment on the wrinkle properties side of both creams, because whilst it's great to get into wrinkle creams at 23 I can't comment on the anti-wrinkle properties. Though she has commented with daily use she has noticed a difference when it comes to fine lines especially on her forehead and eyes, as they do appear to be smoother and when using this as a base for her makeup helps smooth out lines before makeup application.
Both products are slightly scented, but not strong enough I don't think to cause irritation. Instead it has a light fresh scent which I find a little addictive as I always end up smelling my hands afterwards - yes I'm weird! Packaging wise I love the glass jars that these come in, it helps give a luxury feel to the brand, my only bugbear is that they become a pain when you start to get to the bottom of the jar and you're scraping around to get the last few bits and it ends up in your nails and well I'm sure you know what I mean.
Each cream retails for £29 each, but Yves Rocher have a deal on at the moment where both are half price, which would basically works out as buy one get one free and works out a good bargain considering how good the product is.
Overall since using I've noticed that my skin has felt a lot softer and well moisturised whilst looking more awake in a morning which is a big plus. I've noticed that both of these have also helped reduce blemishes and to even out my skin tone.
Have you tried Yves Rocher skincare before? I'd love to know your thoughts!
