I must admit when it comes to skincare I don't really tend to look at high street brands and instead opt for higher end products, so after hearing Jasmine's rave review on the Una Brennan Salicylic Acid face mask in her Ahas and Bhas post I couldn't want to see what the Una Brennan Super Facialist skincare range had to offer and spoiler alert it's all good!
The Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish range is designed to fight oiliness, blocked pores and blemishes for a clear and healthy complexion whilst the Tea Flower deep cleanses, balances and mattifies for clearer skin. For someone with troublesome skin I have found that both ranges have helped keep my skin from breaking out and helps reduce oiliness, I have actually featured both the scrub and mask in my oily skin skincare post.
Una Brennan Super Facialist Pore Purifying Clay Mask helps clear your skin of dirt, excessive oils and toxins which lead to breakouts. What I love about this product is the fact that this contains Salicylic Acid which helps clear congested skin and the results are amazing from the first use. You can leave this on for around 5-10 minutes and once removed your skin is left feeling soft and any excess oils are gone. This doesn't feel tight on the skin, yet gives a slight tingling sensation so you know it's getting to work and I find that this helps clear and prevent breakouts. I've always been a bit wary when it comes to clay masks but this helps keep skin hydrated and calms any blemishes that have decided to make an impromptu appearance.
Una Brennan Super Facialist Purify and Refresh Facial Scrub was actually an accidental purchase as I picked this up instead of the mask so quickly took advantage of Boot's 3 for 2 offer and got a few more bits from the range. The scrub helps to gently yet thoroughly cleanse and exfoliate the skin to reveal a clearer, more even-textured complexion. This scrub gets to work from the get go and I love that this is enriched with micro beads, cooling menthol and Salicylic Acid which helps eliminate impurities and imperfections associated with blemish prone skin. The scrub itself is actually quite gentle yet effective, normally I tend to go for the harshest of scrubs so that I can feel them working but once cleansed my skin is feeling refreshed and cleansed whilst helping to rebalance my skin.
Una Brennan Super Facialist Anti Shine Pore Minimiser helps instantly minimise the appearance of pores to reveal a more refined appearance and texture of your skin. The addition of light reflecting particles combined with powders helps to absorb excess oils to instantly mattify the skin. I have loved using this as a makeup primer for areas where I tend to suffer from oiliness and enlarged pores and looks amazing under my foundation. I have found this helps keep my base matte and my pores look a lot smaller, this definitely reminds me of Benefit's Porefessional. I love that this contains rosehip oil as this helps give the appearance of healthier and more balanced skin.
Overall I love the Super Facialist range by Una Brennan and is quickly becoming my favourite high street skincare range. There is a range to suit all skincare types which is great, as I hate wanting to try a brand yet finding they don't cater for a certain skin type. I have recently picked up the Tea Flower Moisturiser and loving that also, so as of yet I haven't come across a bad product. With all items under £20 the Una Brennan range is definitely one I'd recommend as it is one of those to rival more luxury skincare offerings.
Have you tried the Una Brennan range? I'd love to know your favourite items!
