LtoR: theBalm Mary Lou Manizer, No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter, Benefit Watt's Up, Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop, Seventeen Skin Wow Primer, MAC Soft and Gentle
It seems that since the clocks went forward spring has finally sprung and we have welcomed longer days, rays of sunshine and most importantly a hint of warmth in the air. Not only do I love the change in season but I find myself switching things up in the makeup department opting for a healthy glow instead of matte bases and I wanted to share with you all my top spring glow getters.
Highlighter is still something that is relatively new to me, but gone are the days of chunky, glitter-filled pans and instead we have been introduced to finely milled formulas that leaving the skin glowing rather than glittering. But you know what it has been a short love affair and one I definitely won't be quitting anytime soon.
Starting with a cult classic, theBalm Mary Lou Manizer is a firm favourite with good reason. The buttery texture blends effortlessly into the skin to leave a gorgeous golden glow that is subtle yet still noticeable on the skin. I like that this can be built up depending on the look you're going for, so it's definitely a highlighter that can be amped up on a night, and you don't have to worry about looking oily either, as this remains radiant throughout the day/night.
A high street favourite of mine has to be the No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter, this is such a fool proof highlighter sweeping across the tops of your cheeks with ease and blending seamlessly to leave a healthy flush to your complexion. This is the most stunning subtle light pink and despite being a cream highlighter you don't have to worry about this slipping straight off, as this has some serious lasting power keeping your skin looking dewy throughout spring.
My favourite highlighter has to be Benefit Watt's Up, a beautiful golden highlight that really flatters the skin. This is a dream to blend, being a cream formula this melts into the skin instantly leaving a warmth of dewy radiance that never looks oily. I love the fact that this also comes with a blender on the opposite end which helps to move the product around the tops of your cheeks without running the risk of ruining your base. This is one of those highlighters that is subtle enough for day wear but can be built up for a more prominent glow for evening wear.
Coming in at a close second is the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop which gives the most gorgeous rosy golden glow to your cheekbones, this highlighter is all about the pop showing up really well on the skin especially when caught in the light allowing your features to pop. This is also a great product for highlighting your cupids bow and inner corners of the eyes, without looking too shimmery but instead leaves a faux holiday glow - you know the one I'm talking about when people comment on how radiant you look when you've been on your jollies!
An oldie but a goodie is the Seventeen Skin Wow Primer, this is one of those products that I always find myself repurchasing. I love the fact that this isn't just your average highlighter but instead a three way product which can be used as a primer, highlighter or even mixed with your foundation for a radiance boost. I actually use this mostly mixed with a foundation especially when I'm wanting to add a bit of glow to the skin rather than a flat matte face, and this lifts the skin without steering down the oilier side of the scale. When I'm after added glow a couple of dots across the tops of my cheeks and cupids bow are perfect to wake my skin and accentuate certain aspects of my complex.
Last but not least is MAC Soft and Gentle a stunning peachy gold that blends into the skin effortlessly without looking glittery. A little definitely goes a long way and I tend to apply this with a fan brush as it's easy to go overboard but don't worry you can always blend out any heaviness to reveal gorgeous, glowing skin. This is a little warmer in comparison to the other highlighters but I like that as this means it's a great multi use product which can be used as a topper on your favourite blush or bronzer as well as highlighting the high points on your face.
So these are my spring glow getters, I'd love to know your favourite highlighting products!
